  1. Thanks guys, I thought I was doing so well but I need to re-evaluate my routine. This is so not fun. I'm so thankful for this board as had I not been reading the various post I would never have worried about just handling bread.
  2. I was diagnosed as gluten intolerant last week. I read about how people have separate areas to prepare food and are throwing away cooking utensils, etc. Do I need to be that strict if my blood results were not that severe? I was making a sandwich for my husband at lunch and realized this is really no different than using gluten lotions, soap, etc.
  3. I'm still new to this I was officially diagnosed last Tues but had known my test results for about 6 wks. 2 weeks ago I went ahead and stared my new gluten-free lifestyle when I realized I did not need the biopsy to confirm that I needed to give up gluten. I can honestly say that I could get up from the table after eating a normal meal and be eating out...
  4. Does celiac often mask thyroid test results? Every doctor I have encountered in the last 10 years always suspects I have thyroid issues. Yet when they test my thyroid levels its "perfect" I did have a doctor put me on medication for a couple of years once-the values of my blood work did not fluctuate even though I was on 125 mcg of Levothyroxin. I felt much...
  5. I also forgot to ask about vitamins--Does anyone have any recommendations? I figured from what I've read the B vit would be good, but I don't know what else. Thanks.
  6. In Nov my brother was diagnosed with celiac and we were advised to be tested. My old Dr. refused since I "looked healthy" so I called my gyn and she ran the test for me. I posted my results on this board several in Dec and got wonderful feedback while I was waiting for my follow up with my new Dr. yesterday. She was wonderful. 2 days a month she accepts new...
  7. One final question and I promise not to ask anymore , I'm just so amazed at the amount of knowledge I've learned just in these few post with you that I was unable to learn anywhere on the web before finding this site. Is there any knowledge to be gained from the test that I had done earlier? Did the positive IgG or the Double Strand not give any indication...
  8. Thank you for the advice and the list of recommended test. I cut and pasted to take it with me when I go to my app in Feb. I live in a very rural area and I think often the local Drs. are so busy with the usual diabetic, high blood pressure and viruses that they often do not keep up with conditions outside that realm. I have heard good things about the GP...
  9. Thank you for the reply, sadly that is all the test that were run. I will ask about the other test when I see my GP doctor in Feb. I've often wondered about the parathyroid problem but my old Dr. had refused to do any test, needless to say the Dr. I am seeing in Feb is new, I'm hoping that she is more up to date. My gynecologist had actually run the test...
  10. It was recommended that I have a celiac test after my brother was diagnosed about 2 months ago. I have an appointment in mid-Feb but would like to know more about my results. I am 47, 175lbs, my only medical health issues are migraines and problems maintaining calcium serum levels in my blood (tends to run high, so currently on a calcium blocker) I have had...
