    ARCHIVED Infertility

Hi Roxyk, How is the acupuncture going? There are also chinese herbs that can help prep the body for pregnancy - both for the woman AND the man. Merika
  2. Hi, I don't think they make a recommendation for exact length of nursing because they don't know. They did find that the longer you *exclusively* nurse, the less likelihood of celiac. Unfortunately, it is difficult in the United States to find many mothers who nurse exclusively even up to 6 months. I bet, for example, that if you stopped nursing at 10 months...
  3. Hi, Maybe you're thinking of cocoa butter? Thankfully, this has nothing to do with actual dairy butter. From the web cocoa butter is "the whitish yellow fat extracted from cocoa beans during the manufacture of chocolate and then added back at a later stage". It's part of the processing of the cocoa plant (which is gluten-free ). Now, MILK chocolate...

    ARCHIVED Anxiety

It is so nice to hear that I am not the only one suffering from this! Before diagnosis, I had a career counselor psychologist (?) say it sounded like i had agoraphobia. At first I thought she was nuts. Then i realized i was nuts, lol. I found a book at the library that was very helpful with anxiety called "Fearless Living: (something more...)" by Judith...
  5. Um, hopping on this thread a little late, but if anyone's still reading, lol, I used to work at a McD and there was a dedicated fryer just for fries. BUT if it got really busy and something needed to be fried, it was stuck in any open fry container - so fries went into the chicken nugget bin, pies went into the french fry bin....you get the idea. Mind you...
  6. Hi Stargirl, Almost any dark chocolate is dairy (lactose) free Merika
  7. Sorry Roo, no beer is gluten-free. That said, there are one or two little companies for celiacs that are trying to make and market gluten-free beer. The one I tried was a little sweet but sortof beerlike. Merika (not a big beer drinker anyway....)
  8. I've been gluten-free for almost a year now. Dh (nonceliac) has been making toast, eats crackers and all that, but remarkably hasn't been doing much actual cooking that is gluten-containing. Until now How do you all clean the kitchen? And what do you keep separate for gluten-free/non-gluten-free foods? How do you handle sink, sponges, pots, etc? ...

    ARCHIVED Nausea

yep, I still get nauseus, after being gluten-free almost one year. Mind you, it's way less than when i was eating gluten. Lol, at all the mentions of peppermints. I thought it was just me! I have Brach's peppermints stuffed in every pocket, bag, car.....i laugh that they're like cigarettes, I go nuts if i can't find one when i need one! Has anyone...
  10. Hi, Regarding the breastfeeding, there is a newish study out on celiac disease that shows the ONLY external variable in whether a person gets celiac disease is LENGTH OF EXCLUSIVE NURSING TIME, meaning the longer you exclusively breastfeed, the less likely your child will develop celiac. So, nurse nurse nurse This won't prevent celiac, but it does...
  11. Hi Smith, Did you find a group in Hollywood? I'm in Hollywood! Would love to hear of something nearby.
