  1. Well, I think it happened. My son was dx on March 23 with Celiac and we started the Diet March 25. About 2 weeks ago we finally saw the change with a huge improvement in 'the bathroom'. Well, today they were having a 'beach party' at preschool and were having hotdogs, corn chips and salsa. I checked the labels on the chips and salsa and brought our own...
  2. Thanks so much for your replies. I am more than willing to supply the classroom, however am struggling since we are in Canada and I can't find any Canadian companies, and shipping from the states almost doubles the cost, if they will even ship here. A friend of mine who has a home based business is checking to see if she can order from aroma dough. I have...
  3. Has anyone had to deal with Playdough in the classroom? My son (almost 5 yrs) was diagnosed one month ago with Celiac. We have done really good at home (I think) about avoiding gluten and cross contamination. We are FINALLY starting to see some improvement. I was talking with one of his preschool teachers today about playdough. They don't have this out...
  4. Hello everyone! How long were you gluten free before you saw improvement? We received confirmation of Celiac for my son (age 4.5) on March 25. We have been doing our best to be strictly gluten free since then. His main symptom is diarrhea and we have seen no improvement in this department whatsoever! One day he did have a somewhat 'normal' stool, only...
  5. Hello everyone. We received our son's (age 4.5yrs) positive diagnosis of Celiac (from biopsy) on Tuesday, met with the dietician on Thursday and are now on our own. I am struggling with the best way to do everything. We have three other children and although we would love to go totally Gluten free in the house, but it just isn't financially feasible right...
  6. How did it go? My son had his on Monday. I was so worried, but he handled everything like a champ. Did you get any immediate results? I was hoping we would get a clear answer that day, but the doc said nothing was visible on the scope, so now we need to wait 10 days for the biopsy results. Are you going ahead and starting the diet or waiting for results...
  7. Well, we had the biopsy today.I have to say that the entire procedure went really well. I was disappointed that the were unable to see anything on the scope. Now we need to wait until NEXT THURSDAY to get the results of the biopsies. I am so DONE with waiting. So, as I understand it, our numbers are on the low side (antitransglutaminase was 15, with...
  8. We have our biopsy/scope date- March 15th. So glad we don't have to wait too long. They said the dr will talk to us afterwards about what he saw during the scope but it would take up to a week for the biopsy results. Do they generally see enough to 'diagnose' or will we need to wait for the biopsy results? Thanks!
  9. Jenny, I am sorry that your search for the answer is not over. I can understand the conflict between being happy it's not this, but wondering what is going on with your little one. I would be interested to hear what direction you are taking now. Good luck to you.
  10. Thanks for everyone's responses here. It is nice to know that there are others out there waiting. I had a bit of a meltdown last night with my hubby. I am so scared that the biopsy will be positive, yet at the same time scared it will be negative, then we will be back to square one! Perhaps I need to stop reading so much, I am feeling overwhelmed already...
  11. We are waiting also. I tried to start a new thread, but it hasn't shown up here yet. Maybe soon! We have received a 'slightly positive' on one of the blood tests, but not sure which one (anti-trans....?). Now we are waiting to be booked in for the biopsy. My son is 4.5 yrs. What have your daughters symptoms been?
  12. I wasn't sure if I should start my own thread or post on the other one about waiting, as we are in a slightly different situation. * About 6 weeks ago we had general blood work done on our son (age 4.5yrs). I requested a celiac test be added as well. * 10days ago we got a call that the blood came back "slightly positive" for Celiac. As far as I know...
