Ever since going gluten free in April of this year I have a weird thing happening each time I have blood drawn. It seems that I am not clotting very well or at all. I mean the tech thinks I am fine and I get up to walk off and it POURS down my arm and I do mean POURS! I had blood work done today and was fine afterward. Taped up and out I go to the...

ARCHIVED Venting.....feeling Like Crap Again!
looking4help posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Well, I wanted to be able to vent and you all are the only ones that really "get" the frustration and pain. Just a quick recap: Gluten free since April '10, had colonoscopy, endoscopy, CT scans, you name it been there done it. Fired 1st GI because it seemed I could be rich for the $ I was paying her to hear well, it's not for sure or I guess we could... -
ARCHIVED People Who Live In Gluten-Containing Homes....
looking4help replied to Shannonlass's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Ok, I live in a house where 2 out of 4 members are gluten free. Myself because of actual intolerance and my 9 yr old daughter because I want to see if gluten free will help in her severe ADHD. I have my own stainless steel pan and spatula. I am now cooking most of the meals just to be sure. I have a dedicated area in the kitchen for my food (dry... -

Thank you so much! I definitely assure that it will be slow. I won't tell you the horrors I went through prior to going gluten free in April. Before that I knew something was wrong with my diet so I went "healthy" and went on a freakish diet of EVERYTHING wheat/whole grain etc and you can imagine how my body reacted! YIKES! THEN and only then did... -

Thank you for the suggestions. I will go back to the store and get some brown rice. I bought white yesterday. Bummer but hey ANYTHING to get my health right! On a side note I am allergic to sweet potatoes as well as strawberries and fresh ginger. I get a horrible case of my throat closing shut! It's horrible! So, fruit has fiber?? I had cantaloupe... -

Yes VIVA LA GIRL POWER! I agree so very much! I have learn and continue to learn so much on this forum. No, you are not alone on the painful periods! Throughout the years I always had at least one day of my cycle that I felt like I was dieing. Unfortunately, school nurses, teachers etc did not "get" it. I was told to suck it up. It happens to all... -

Ok, thank you for the responses so far. I will drop the DP this week. I went to the store yesterday and bought fruit and rice. So, I will add those in and skip out the potatoes as well. I do know that I dropped the milk from my diet about a week ago and the loud rumbling in my tummy stopped. It would rumble for hours after having the milk from... -

Ok, I have gone completely fresh. I don't even eat processed gluten free stuff on suggestion from this forum. I have been gluten free since April '10. I have also cut out almost all dairy and even soy. Breakfast: 2 slices bacon, 1 scrambled egg Lunch: usually skip because of lack of hunger and I eat breakfast late usually Dinner: some type... -

Ok without being to disgusting in this post I need help! I have really begun to pay close attention to my diet this last month as well as my symptoms. I have the weirdest thing happening. My bathroom issues seem to be on a cycle! Maybe I am losing my mind? Day one======Major D Day two======Less D almost nothing at all Day three=====goes... -
My sympathy is with you! It must be so horrible! I have yet to really visit the in laws since going gluten free but I will admit that I truly am in fear of it. They live in flour fried hell. I remember just mentioning turkey instead of beef once as an option to help fight against cholesterol (this was before gluten free days and I had switched my...

ARCHIVED Soda..should It Be Eliminated?
looking4help replied to looking4help's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Ok, I posted this question last night and then ended up going to bed before reading any responses. So, therefore I tentatively logged on this morning saying a few please oh please oh pleases in my head as I did so. Then a huge feeling of relief washed over me as I read all the responses. YEA! I can keep my occasional treat of an ice cold DP! I live... -

Thank you so much for your response! I am so sorry to hear your journey but definitely congrats on the pregnancy! I did not have probs with infertility as I am blessed with 4 beautiful kids. My oldest is almost 19 now. But I certainly have had so many urinary type infections ever since the first pregnancy. It seems that my OB dr is more concerned... -
I am sitting here this evening trying to continue my journey in figuring out my new diet. So many have already helped me on a lot of it and I really appreciate it! What about soda? Besides the sugar, calories, caffeine etc is it bad as well? Dr. Pepper in specific. THANKS!

ARCHIVED Endometriosis/female Issues And Celiac?

Ok, as many of you now know I have already fired 1 GI dr for lack of brains in her head. I have hired a new one and really have figured out if he "gets" celiac or not. He is doing a let's check it off approach. I am ok with this because I do have multiple issues and need to make sure a hernia in my diaphragm is truly not in need of surgery as a surgeon... -

ARCHIVED It Was Hard But I Did It!
looking4help replied to looking4help's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Oh thank you for the idea to wrap it entirely in foil. I didn't even think of that! Yes, my hubby is a keeper. He tries so super hard for me not only in the gluten area. I really feel so bad for those that don't have understanding spouses. -
This may sound so silly but I just have to share and here is the only place I get the understanding support that I need right now. Last night my daughter and I went out for a family camp meal at my son's boy scout summer camp. They were serving big, fat steaks and baked potatoes. OH YUM right? To make things better MY hubby was the one doing...

I have been trying to be gluten free since April of this year. I say trying because it seems every time I turn around the corner I find a new source of the offensive poison. I relate to what you are saying about others saying you look better. In a conversation with my 9 yr old she said that I look better on the inside. I didn't even have to ask... -
Hi there everyone! I have a horrible problem with fatigue. I am having so much problems staying awake during the day but at night I sleep so sound these days that I basically have to be shaken awake in the morning. My general dr has had me on B12 shots for a bit now after doing bloodwork and finding it low. He also wanted me on a sublingual every day...

Bluebridie, You are very welcome! I so totally relate to your message. I too am finding myself depending heavily on this forum vs. anything else. It doesn't seem that the docs are really taking me very seriously. I am so very tired of going to appts. only to be looked at like I am out of my mind and should be committed. I really find more... -
ARCHIVED Desperate For Help

Hi there! Thanks for your response. To answer your question my skin looks fine but the feel is another story. I am constantly itchy and dry hence using so much lotion. I hate oily lotion and Aveeno is really the only one that I found absorbs into my skin. Do you think the itchy, dryness is due to my problems or just because? THX!
