  1. I dont trust Dr's. Over 90 percent of celiac's are misdiagnosed. Stick with the gluten-free diet.
  2. I ate baklava that my daughter gave me, same symptoms. Dont think anything will help, maybe lots of water. Time!
  3. thanks......soy sauce kills me just like a big mac would. found san j organic tamari sauce, good substitute.
  4. Thanks for the replies. Love this board, really helps me.
  5. Is soy ok for celiacs to eat or is it one of those individual things like oatmeal? Also, is being gluten sensitive have the same damaging effects on your villi as a full blown celiac has? I dont get as sick as alot of people on here when glutenated but I think I could be still getting the same damage as a full blown celiac, of which I still consider myself...
  6. Get the whopper with the lettuce wrapped around it. You still take a chance with the grill being contaminated though.
  7. Over 90 percent of Celiac cases are mis-diagnosed per Dr OZ, meaning 9 out of 10 people who think they have it and are told they dont, actually do........what a shame!
  8. Anyone know where you can buy a gluten free fruit cake? I see lots of recipes on the internet but none that you can order. Anyone tasted one before and is it even worth pursuing? Taste like cardboard like all the other gluten-free products? Thanks.....Derrick
  9. IBS is just a catch all phrase by DR's when they dont know what the problem is as some have stated. I got disability due to meniere's disease, I also have celiac, but doubt that that alone will get you disability as you can control that disease by what you eat. If you do plan on filing, be prepared for a long fight and many appeals, I had to go before...
  10. meat, salads and veggies......usually pretty safe bet.
  11. Unless you are drinking gluten free beer, your still being glutenated. There are not many gluten-free beers out there, redbridge by anheiser busch is popular.
  12. getting strict with gluten-free diet and feeling better.....

  13. I am beginning to wonder if I should just eat anything and be happy for the short run or live long and eat bland, hard to find gluten-free foods........naw...dont like the pains and side effects...will stick it out..
  14. Well I am going to start reading those ingredient labels on everything now, if I can, the print is usually so small and I hate carrying reading glasses with me.....lol.
  15. No prob. I am getting really depressed as to what one can eat now as far as fast food goes, especially travelling. There is very little left besides salads, even then, you gotta watch the dressing, aka wendys ranch dressing killed me last night, unbelievable, and here I thought I was doing good by have the chicken/pecan/apple salad. Darn!
  16. I have Meniere's and Celiac, both auto-immune diseases. I am convinced that consuming gluten causes my meniere's to be worse as my vertigo is more of a balance, sea-sickness type of vertigo. Also my ears hurt really bad after a dose of gluten and nausea, bathroom trips, cramps, headaches, brain fog, irritability, depression all get worse. Meniere's disease...
  17. I use to think eating crispy hard corn taco's were gluten-free, but after going to Taco Bell's web site, I found out otherwise. Open Original Shared Link It is possible the grill is contaminated and I would think the taco meat seasoning might have gluten in it also. Tostada's are listed as safe. Chicken salads are safe also.
  18. I am a celiac since 2006 and have cheated on my diet up until about a week ago. My eyes are always red and I think the eyes are a signal that your body is under attack, in this case, gluten. I am getting very strict with my diet now as Lymphoma and intestinal cancer is a real possibility if I continue cheating, so hopefully my eyes will return to normal...
  19. Thanks MelindaLee, its too bad gluten-free foods taste like crap and are very expensive, beside the naturally gluten-free foods like rice, cheese, meats etc. Meniere's symptoms have are vertigo, inner ear pain, nausea, irritability, fatigue, headaches, blurred vision, brain fog, and more. Alot of those fall under Celiac. I hope alot of my symptoms disappear...
  20. Thanks for the replies, I will try to refrain from the gluten, but it is hard when you eat out alot, better like tacos and salads I guess, even then the grill can be contaminated. Even the gluten free beer upsets my system, I dont drink often with menieres, I am dizzy enough, but once in a while is nice. That Lymphnoma looks rather scary.
  21. I am either a full blown celiac or highly gluten sensitive and also have Meniere's disease. Both are autoimmune diseases. Do you think they might be somehow connected? Also, I cheat quite often on my diet and pay the price. But lately my whole insides feel like I have been hit by a truck, very sore? Is this normal? If I continue to eat gluten, can this develop...
