    ARCHIVED Bruising

Still hoping bruises will fade more by Wednesday when my girlfriends arrive but they know me for a long time (went to grad school with both of them and I'm old enough to be their mother) and they are used to my "falling incidents." On the 3rd day of my first teaching job I fell down and broke the fall with my hand. Three fingers were broken backwards...

    ARCHIVED Bruising

Had a great time at the Bates Haunted Motel. It was small so it only took about 20 minutes. Superman jumped and yelled a few times (me too). At one point someone got sawed in half and guts fell out (he was obviously in a box). They let 4 people in at a time and we were in with a young girl and her father. She got really scared. The Penitentiary was definitely...

  4. Got my groove back and then some. Both smiling today. I tried on my mask and we decided that I don't have to cover the zombie bruise. Loey
  5. I was going to say go for it until the ex part came up. But it might be amicable. It's definitely a sign that you're special to him for him to invite you. RELATIONSHIP!!!!!!!!! Had a great time at the Bates Haunted Motel. It was small so it only took about 20 minutes. Superman jumped and yelled a few times (me too). At one point someone got sawed in...
  6. I agree with "Riding the Broomstick" - shall we take a vote? Loey
  7. Nice to meet you, too Bev!. I love this forum and particularly this thread!!! I'm looking forward to the Haunted Motel. The story was that in the 1600's two ships crashed into each other and no one survived. The captain of one of the ships lives in the Shady Motel (called the Bates Haunted Motel). As I mentioned a few days ago on this thread we went...
  8. Giving you extra plusses because it is really helping (though I have a looooong way to go). Finally emailed my girlfriends who are visiting to tell them about it (they're use to my "klutziness" - before I knew about Ataxia) but I doubt it will be gone by Wednesday when they arrive. I'm so excited to have someone from my old home visiting!!! Loey
  9. Hello Dear Karraaaaang, Where was it? As I'm sill slowly reintroducing food into my diet it probably would have been frustrating for me to be at a gluten-free Lalapalooza so I'm living through you vicariously. Time to shower, spend 20 minutes covering the bruises (a little better every day) before doing errands and haunted motel date with hubby, and...

    ARCHIVED Block

What does it mean when someone has "Block" in their profile by a message you sent?
  11. Nik- also hope you're pfeeling better. I had to have 4 surgeries to replace receding gum lines (they used cadaver gums - boy did that ever give Clark a lot of material to freak me out). I chose to use the cadaver gums because I had heard the skin grafting hurt worse than the procedure. Anyway- sending you healing hugs!!! Loey P.S. problems with teeth...
  12. I thought my first (deceased) husband couldn't stand me. He was assigned to train me at my job as a videotape editor at a TV Network. Turned out he was shy and had a crush on me. He asked for a ride home one night when we worked the 7-3 shift and we started dating right away. Wouldn't have met my current hubby if I hadn't married my first. First...
  13. Thanks for the quick reply. I'll make it for hubby and guests. Too many things I'm not trying yet (wahhhh). Luckily I love jasmine ice omelets and they agree with me. Also tolerating salads and a few other things. Still trying to stay away from anything that can make the pain from the ulcer worse (2 weeks until biopsy). I'm a mess!!! The bruise is...
  14. The WTF was in reply to the story about the crazy women your dad (or celiac-momma's dad was bringing home). As for BE- it most definitely sounds like a relationship. You seem to have hit it off immediately AND also have chemistry going on. I knew Klark was "the one" after the second night. Same thing with my deceased first hubby. And a man who cooks...
  15. Can I have the recipe for the strata, please? I'm going dairy free at this point as I try to find my food allergies. I have two friends coming to visit from NJ next week during NEA conference (YAY). I have some meals planned to cook for them. Not sure I can eat them. Thanks! Loey

    ARCHIVED Bruising

Thank you one and all. Still look like Hell (Actually a little better) but the pain is less. I appreciate all of your advice and support more than I can say. It's hard enough to move to a new town/state but to be sick a the same time is really a double whammy. his forum is a literal lifeline!!!! Loey

    ARCHIVED Bruising

I promise I will!! Though I hope it doesn't happen again. I hope my GI refers me to a GP so I can have the blood work to test for vitamin deficiencies. He's on vacation this week. I did feel like it was initially a slight concussion but the headache is gone, the swelling is going down and the bruising is a "Little" better. Other than a shiner I have a bruise...
  18. I also use ivory soap and Neutrogena and then the shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hair gel and spray from body sense,. A lot of these were recommended by our Peter (he must have soft skin). I spent a fortune on hair products before I moved and now don't think I should use them. I'll donate them, I guess. My eyesight makes it hard to read some of the labels...

    ARCHIVED Ataxia

Still looking for a GP in my new town/state so I can have my blood tested for vitamin deficiencies. Following a gluten-free diet (slipped a bit when I saw all of the products marked gluten-free but I hadn't learned about the FDA and how little they currently expect the manufacturers to do with labeling. Back to basics right now (modified elimination diet...
  20. I also found a company called body sense gluten-free products pretty reasonable and it arrived within 4 days of my placing the order. Loey Open Original Shared Link
  21. BTW, what did you go back to study? Loey
  22. I can't even post my emoticons right yet. You have mad skills! But I did finish 2 grad school programs with a 4.0 (no statistics) so there's hope for me yet! Of course that was before the Celiac felled me like a big tree. I will survive!!!! Loey Still following the story of BE
  23. WTF? That's quite a story!!!!!!!!!!!! Loey
  24. Thanks! I think we all have a soul mate out there and when we meet them we know. Sometimes it takes longer to meet them. It's a matter of finding the faults you can live with in the other person. And believe me Clark and I have plenty of faults. OK, I'm getting two deep for the psilly thread. TIme to follow your adventures with Blue Eyes! Loey
  25. When he has a set of everything at your house and you see him most nights of the week, I think. Have you been together long (am I being too nosy?). Superman and I decided it was "it" the 2nd night we were together. In those days it was important to be monogamous because it was just the beginning of HIV. I actually met him because my first husband had...
