    ARCHIVED Bruising

I'm still badly bruised from rolling out of bed onto my face Saturday night. I was at the health food store today and the women recommended a homeopathic medicine that helps bruises fade quicker. It's called Arnica Montana. You dissolve 4 tablets under your tongue 4xdy. I started it today and will keep you posted. Right now I'm so bruised I hate leaving the...
  2. P.S I miss taking my son Trick or Treating. Now I'll have door duty. I don't know how many kids will come as it's a newly constructed development. There are houses near us that are considered the older part of town.I probably bought WAY too much candy. My hubby will have to bring the leftovers it in to work. I have always made special halloween bags for...
  3. ARRRRGGG!! lost my reply again while checking it!!!!! I went out to do errands today after applying expensive gluten-free make-up for 20 minutes (again - I swear I'm staying in until Saturday when we go to the Haunted Hotel)). One stop was the Health Food Store and I wound up telling her about the black eye (she didn't notice it until I mentioned it). She...
  4. My son once went out wearing a costume that was a body builder. Now he's into lifting weights and Martial Arts (has been for years) but don't think he has a 6 pack yet. Loey
  5. I'm taking the easy weigh out and have a pirate mask (will cover the shiner if it's not totally gone) and comes with little lady GaGa like finger gloves and a choker. I have a really cool flapper costume I used to wear when Zuperman & I used to go to parties (as well as many costumes from when my 18 year old was growing up). Wish I could send them through...
  6. I'd be glad if that was it but I'm still not going to take any chances. I remember how it easy was to make and how it always turned out delicious. I'll just have to live vicariously and do my baking from scratch right now. Loey
  7. Here it is. Boy does it ever bring back memories. Please have a nice warm slice for me!!!!!! Loey Bisquick Coffee Cake Recipe: First, preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Get your round, 9 x 1
  8. I hope my Walmart carries it but the soy part scares me as I'm new to Celiac, super sensitive and currently doing the elimination diet. Will hold off until I see if I can eat soy. I'll just have to enjoy your biscuits and gravy through the forum. Please describe how yummy the are in detail!!!! Loey
  9. For the past 20 years we have always gone to a halfway point to meet my brother and SIL for a big buffet and then a movie. I'm grateful that this year we'll be staying home. I'm newly diagnosed and even sensitive to a lot of foods that are gluten-free. My son wants duck (OMG - it takes about 9 hrs to make two turn out crispy).Today my brother called to say...
  10. How bout when you're diagnosed after being bedridden for 6 weeks with the big D and your new GI does all the tests and they come back positive for Celiac. You move to a new state literally the day after your GI gives you all of your test results. She wants you to have a capsule endoscopy as soon as you find a new GI. Your new GI thinks it's unnecessary ...

    ARCHIVED A Little Guidance?

Welcome!!!!! I'm also fairly new to this site but you'll find an amazing group of people here. From what I've learned here if you are following a gluten-free diet your tests might show up negative. You have to decide if you care about getting a official diagnosis. If you don't just stay away from wheat (and gluten), I also have found that I have a lot of...

    ARCHIVED Diagnosis

How do you post your diagnosis so it shows up on posts? Thanks Loey
  13. Glad to hear it's a nice ghost. The Exorcist is Souperman's favorite movie. I can't even count the number of times we've watched it. We visited the house in Georgetown and walked down the stairs. I was a lot younger and healthier then - thankfully no Ataxia yet. Loey
  14. Glad to hear he was released. Will continue to send healing thoughts for BE's dad and I'll cross my eyes that your prof gives you the answer you want). Loey
  15. Did you talk yo your prof yet or is that tomorrow? How's BE's dad? Loey

    ARCHIVED Quotation

Thanks! Now I have to find the book that has my favorite quote in it (still unpacking). I'm still navigating my way around here. Loey
  17. Good thing you don't watch the movies that Superman and I do (or should I call him Clark when not saving the word). Their plots sound like your dream. Stay away from haunted houses this weekend. We're going to the Bates Haunted Motel. Supposedly two ships wrecked on the beach near our house in the 1600s and one of the Captains took up residence in the Motel...

How do you add a quotation to a post or to your profile? Loey

    ARCHIVED Reputation

Maybe giving them a double positive would work. I think it would cancel out the negative and then give them a positive as well. I'm new here so I probably shouldn't be the one to reply. Loey
  20. I didn't know my MIL understood English for the first three years of my marriage. Of course once I took care of her when she got sick it was a different story. Man, do I miss her paella and empanadas (though I'm sure they weren't gluten-free). Holidays at our house are tame because it's just the 3 of us and sometimes my brother and SIL. Loey still...

    ARCHIVED Ataxia

I had the biopsy for Celiac and it (and all the other tests) came back positive. I moved to a new state literally the day after I got the test results. I was following what I thought was a gluten-free diet and felt better for well over a month. Then BAMM a flare. I now know that just because something is labeled gluten-free it isn't necessarily the truth...
  22. Thanks!! Now with a brain like that who needs stats? Loey
  23. OK, birthday girl - I fought a Ninja and he/she looks worse than I do!!!!! Or perhaps Superman was exposed to Kryptonite while taking me for a ride and dropped me by mistake? Loey
  24. Where do you find all of these icons? Loey
  25. I had just discovered that the reason I tend to fall a lot is probably Ataxia (not klutziness, which I always assumed it was). The very same night I found out about it I rolled out of bed and the sound was so loud it woke Superman right up. He got me ice and that helped with the swelling. I do still feel like a truck hit me. Superman/Clark is the sweetest...
