ARCHIVED Genetics Teating
glutenfreemamax2 posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
My sons gi told me that since I have been gluten-free for a while, I could have the genetics testing done. Is that something the insurance company covers? Can you tell me what the tests are so I can tell my gp exactly what to order? -
Thyroid or celiac? Went to tge dr this morning. He thinks my thyroid is off. No one has ever said anything to be before. Do they go hand in hand?

We are working on this. For my birthday he went to the store and put a huge basket together full of gluten-free convience foods (cracker, pasta, cookies, brownies, candles, and a really nice bottle of wine). I was touched he thought about it. I'm still bitter. It's still a sore subject between us. We start counseling Monday :-) -

Eating pretty crappy. Woke up at 1 this morning, fell back asleep at6, then up at 6:30. If you count crying and breastfeeding, thoes are the only calories I've burned. Yesterday I made homemade cheeze it's. I used earth balance and there is 100 cal per tablespoon. I used 3 tblsp in it, and ate the whole thing on top of chocolate. I'm going to have to... -

That sounds really good. I had a nice big bowl of veggie chicken soup last night. I also had some pork tenderloin. I took the kids to the park yeaterday(walked/jogged) and did my normal workout that my trainer does with me. I'm sore today. Been going through a lot of emotional crap lately- today I turn 30 and I don't know if its related or not..... -

I know I sound like a mean bi$&@ but when you are doughted, made fun of, jokes cracked at you, and all you do is fight about what I eat, yes I become a little bitter. Food is an issue for me. I'm obsessed before I had this issue. Now it's magnified. -
ARCHIVED Did My Dr Mess Up?
glutenfreemamax2 replied to glutenfreemamax2's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yes, that is what I did. I want a diagnosis to gain family support. I had a ttg antibody and igg, which they say is negative. Then they ran a ttg and iga which was "negative" They also did a endomysial ab screen (iga) Which was negutive -

So I have been gluten-free for almost a year now. I have tried the gluten challenge twice and didn't make it. I decided to get a copy of the labs I had drawn a year ago from my dr. I was just curious. I had been gluten-free for 2 weeks prior to the test. He only tested iga and ttg with a titer. The results were under 3 was negative, and all mine both... -

Sea world was Orlando. I went to Disney and was so shocked how accommodating they were. Sea world, not so much. Do you understand what it's like to have cranky hungry kids and a mom and gave to schlep to the car to eat? It's a no go for me. Can't do it. Either help me or let me bring in my food. -

That's a great idea!! Thanks! My mom got me a stand mixer. I'm thinking I need a George foreman grill also. -
Dh has had the big d since yesterday. He said he's exhausted and he can't keep his eyes open most of the time. He has canker sores. His tremmer is awful. (he's had d for a while, just really bad since yesterday). He said he has major brain fog. When I tell him to go gluten free for 2 weeks to see if it gets better he tells me to leave him alone, and that...

I took the kids trick or treating tonight. I stole a snickers, and my 4 year old looks at me and says "mommy, is that gluten free?!?" LOL. My other son throws up every single time he has twizzlers. One house tried to give him a twizzlers and he said " my mommy says they make me sick. Do you have anything else?". LOL.

Very good point. I will maybe ask for some mixes, and if thoes go well, ask for the bread machine. We have an oriental store. The rice noodles come in every thickness( angel hair to fetticini) and are .99 for a huge package. 1 package lasts me almost 2 weeks. I just never get to that end of town. Guess I'm going to have to start. I made the decision... -

I tried that. Just confused me lol. I figure if I make the bread, thT is really the only gluten-free expensive thing I buy. ($5-$6 loaf) I foun a recipe for cheeze it's. Pasta wil be another feat but I can do without that. -

My husband is also someone who doesn't believe in doctors. He thinks it's a money making business, and they just want your co pay. So anything "medical" he really doesn't buy. Unless a broken bone, or something major. But if it's not "major" he doesn't believe in it. And it's his definition of "major" :-) -

We all eat sandwhivhes everday. I'm not the best baker. I thought a bread machine I could dump everything in and then in a few hours have sandwhich bread? I can whip you up some pork chops, but don't ask me to bake you muffins... They are not going to be good! -

He wants to know whT I want for my bday... A bread machine with a gluten-free setting :-) and my mom can get me some mixes. Is someone allowed to recommends mixes? I'd like to keep the bread maker under 100 bucks. Something small to start with. I can always upgrade. Then it will be mostly gluten-free in my house. He can have poison when he eats out... -

I really feel my kids should go gluten free. But as my husband keeps saying "I don't buy into the gluten crap". He tells me I make issues for my kids that are not there. The middle one has been tested, but my oldest is starting to show lots of symptoms. We only have emergency insurance until December, then I'll have awesome coverage and will have the labs... -

So as he went into the grocery store to get the chicken, I thought to check and make sure they are still gluten-free. There is only 1 flavor that is NOT gluten-free. So on the way home, I said what kind did you get? Of course, he got the 1 flavor that ha wheat in it. He got all mad. Your never happy.... I heard that. He said no matter how hard he tries I...
