  1. Just wanted to say I appreciate all of you. The more i read on here, the more I hear people talk about these "weird" symptoms I have had all my life. Im labeled a hypochondriac by my dr's and some family. It's nice to know I'm not the only one suffering. Thanks again for all your posts. You guys have such great information and everyone brings something...
  2. Anyone have luck with the millet bread? I'm ready to buy my 2 nd loaf. O can't tell if I'm mildly reacting to it or not.
  3. I ate it and it transferred through the breast milk. I don't have a gluten-free home, and my other 2 boys are always eating bread and stuff and kissing him and touching him. ( I always tell them to stop)
  4. I have an 8 week old. I had gluten last week ( had been gluten-free whole pregnancy) and a day or so later his face broke out in a horrible "rash". Was like infant acne but only on the face from one side to the other. As the gluten left his system the "rash" went away just as fast as it came. Someone mentioned am allergic reaction to dairy? My pedi is still...
  5. Are they all basically the same? I have a recipe that calls for savanahs (?) gluten-free flour but I have bobs on hand. Is it ok to substitute? I'm going to make egg noodles
  6. I agree about low key. Looking back at their visit I heard myself say " yep. Eating my gluten free waffles. " or " mmm this gluten free toast is great". Always drawing attention to it. Part of me just didn't want them to think I was eating regular waffles or toast while I made them pancakes etc
  7. We went yesterday with My family that was in town. The first place we went was a bakery. They had a rack of allergen free food! They had packs. The one I got was the bigger one(9.00) and it had 2 cookies, ( all brand name stuff) a fruit bar ( was delicious!) a sunflower nut bar, candies, and dried apples. Well worth the money. I stuck it in the stroller so...
  8. I had been gluten free through my pregnancy. I started eating gluten in the last couple of weeks of my pregnancy and 2 weeks after he was born. Then I went gluten-free again because I felt awful. He is exclusively breastfed. I ate some non gluten-free donuts last Monday, and tge next day I noticed his face broke out. I can't tell if its a coincidence or a...
  9. I didn't realize the shared fryer until mid order. Maybe it was the few glasses of wine, or the fact that I wanted fries so I put my stupid blinders on.
  10. Anyone take them? Do they help? What kind do you take? Do you only take them when you fear cc or all the time?
  11. So I have family in town who I have not seen in a while. They are all nurses. They know I'm gluten-free. My one cousin had very similar issues to me but she had d and I have c. We had a rather heated debate about gluten. She said that gluten is NOT my problem. She said it's probably my gallbladder ( she had hers out) and ghat I have just a "sensitive stomach...
  12. My family is not supportive. They think I'm being difficult. I had labs done but I had been gluten-free for almost a month prior. Family says labs were negative and me being gluten free has nothing to do with it. Even all the nurses in my family say that, so its lonley old me battling everyone.
  13. Unless I have a diagnosis I won't have support :-(
  14. Is 14 days enough to show on labs, and how much gluten do I need to eat? I've done the gluten challenge before, but could only get 3 weeks in before I was so miserable. I looser insurance at the end of the month. I wanted to do it before I lost it if it's enough time. Also- does insurance cover the gene test?
  15. I get different symptoms every Tim I consume or cc. This time from all that I have horrible constipation, increase of mucus(sinus issues) sleep problems, bloating and gas. I am seeing flashers in my line of vision. Yesterday I had a horrible burning/ gnawing at the top of my stomach and really bad reflux also. I was cc on sat night at a restaurant and...
  16. Anyone have thoes few things that you can't resist? My dh brought dunkin donuts munchkins for the kids. When no one was looking I ate like 5. them after dinner no one was around and I found nutter butter cookies stashed. I had 8 :-(. Now I'm having gi symptoms as well as neurological. And sleep- forget it. It was so not worth it in retrospect, but at the...
  17. My family came into town which I have not seen in like 10 years. My father has schizophrenia (which I'm pretty sure is from un diagnosed celiac...he's had issues his whole life). We were talking about parenting etc., and I was explaining how guilt just rules my life (thanks dad...). I can remember only liking the blue m&ms and feeling guilty and that...
  18. I went gluten-free October of 2010. I hot pregnant but remained gluten-free. I decided to consume gluten the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy so I could have a celiac panel ran. I only made it 3 weeks into the 3 months. I felt so awful and my gi symptoms were so bad I went back gluten-free. I was talking to my sons gi today, and she said some dr.'s might...
  19. Gi was awesome. She said defiantly stay away from gluten fair and eggs. Upped the Zantac dose, and asked me to put him on a probioic. Said I should get gene testing done for me since I gluten-free and didn't tolerate the gluten challenge. What does everyone think about that?
  20. I'm not drinking or eating any dairy, but have not cut the "hidden" dairy. All the gluten-free stuff I eat is dairy free. These lo's need owners manuals! My last son was extremely allergic to dairy and eggs. No one believed me until there was blood in his stool, then they told me "must be salmonella". It was food allergies.
  21. Me pedi is no help and knows nothing about breastfeeding. He told me as long as there is no blood doesn't have a problem with food. I don't want there to be that much damage that he bleeds. Hopefully the gi is more knowlagable, but I really don't think she is. There is no one in the area who is knowlagable, and she is the only gastro pedi with in like 70...
  22. I have been excluding bf'ing my 6 week old. I was gluten-free through my pregnancy, but started eating gluten te last 3 weeks of my pregnancy and 2 weeks after(I was doing a gluten challenge but started feeling so ba I went back gluten-free). He has on and off green poop. It's also stringy and mucusy. When I get glutened, I notice that r is miserable...
  23. We went to applebees last night. I explained to the waitress I have an allery, asked her to notify the kitchen, etc. I ordered off the gluten-free menu. I ate my (tasteless) dinner. Sure enough, 3 am, sick as a dog. If they don't understNd cc, then why have a gluten-free menu?!? My poor lo is of course sick as well ( exclusive breastfed) They had chips...
  24. Thanks for all your replies and support. I honestly think both my other boys have problems with gluten. My oldest has the allergic shiners. Skin testing was negative. He refuses sandwiches etc. For lunch he has an apple, yogurt, and celery. My middle one was tested. Who knows if my pedi even ordered the right tests. He has the pale color, tummy always upset...
  25. Ughh. I hear this a lot. " oh your still doing that gluten diet?" My husband and I fight like cata and dogs when the gluten issue comes up. In the last 4 weeks of my pregnancy I went back to a gluten containing diet. Then about 2 weeks after the baby was born (born at 37 weeks) I started with all the symptoms again. I stopped eating the gluten ( and the...
