Richard, I just received a letter from Mc Neil, makers of Tylenol. I was asking about Tylenol PM. They assured me that it is gluten-free, in fact they sent me a whole list of gluten-free products and several coupons for their products. I would put it on the message board but I don't have the computer skills to do it. It has to say extra strength Tylenol... -

judy04 replied to Greengal's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Kelly, I too have had the edema and face and neck flushing. About 10 years ago the medical doctor found a "goiter" in my neck. I was sent to an endocrinologist who found a nodule on my left thyroid gland. I had surgery to remove it, it was benign, and the surgeon said that my thyroid was "attacking" itself, another type of autoimmune disorder... -

ARCHIVED Why Am I Not Improving?
judy04 replied to Jojes's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi Jojes, I am fairly new to this diet, nov 03, and I began having problems about a month into the diet. By the process of elimination I narrowed the culprit to dairy and tomatoes.I noticed that you are consuming tomatoes and that might be your problem too. I've had to give up my favorite baked beans, spaghetti sauce, cheese, yogurt, milk and ice cream... -

judy04 replied to mysterypain's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi, I read your post and I was amazed when you said you get a terrible taste in your mouth, that's been one of my main symptoms when i think I have eaten something with gluten, milk, or tomato products. This is usually followed by right sided pain (right around gall bladder). I've been tested many times for gb disease but every thing is normal. After... -
ARCHIVED Confused About Biopsy & Other Celiac Info
judy04 replied to zippyten's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi, I was reading about your stomach problems, nausea, bloating. I also had these and I agreed to have the Endoscopy done and I'm glad I did because I have gerd/esophagitis and IBS as well as an allergy to wheat. If this condition had been left undiagnosed it could lead to cancer. The procedure is very much easier than the colonoscopy, there is no... -

judy04 replied to taranallan's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Tara, I'm sorry that you are so ill, I know how you must be feeling. I have an allergy to wheat. For 3 years I had red, sore, itchy eyes. My allergist insisted it was "environmentally" caused by trees, grass, and mold. I had allergy shots, antibiotics, but nothing helped. In March of 03 I began having GI problems, nausea, diarrhea, bloating all... -

judy04 replied to rdawn's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
rdawn, About the Lactaid question, You have to be completely off any dairy products for 2 weeks before you can take the Lactaid tablets. If I were you I would stay away from dairy as long as you can. I've been off dairy for a couple of months and I tried to reintroduce them but I started to get a reaction. My reaction to milk is "brain fog" and... -

ARCHIVED Not Getting Better At All, Help?
judy04 replied to rdawn's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
rdawn, I understand what you are going through. The first few months are the worst. my advice to you is to take a deep breath and calm down, things will get better, I promise. You need to eat very simply, such as chicken, rice, and veggies(keep them simple, like celery, peas, green beans). I also eat pork chops, mashed potatoes, and again a simple... -

Jan, Don't feel bad I had a lot of problems at first. When you said you could only see 2/3 of the message, you probably need to center it by pushing the right arrow at the bottom of the window, that's what I have to do. Hope this helps! I think you will like it when you get used to it...

ARCHIVED New Here And Very Frustrated!
judy04 replied to ChrissyInNH's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi everyone, When I first went gluten-free, I got worse instead of better. I think it is your body reacting to not receiving gluten. They say your body craves what it is allergic to. I have always craved soft white bread, but that "craving" went away after a few weeks. After that you start to recognize other foods that bother you, in my case it was... -

mysterypain, I have been gluten-free for three months and I cannot eat oatmeal, nor dairy. I usually use goat milk for cooking. Hello, I also have thyroid disease. I had a benign nodule on my left thyroid, which they removed in 2000. Dr said my body was destroying itself (autoimmune disease) and I have to take a small dose of Levoxyl to protect the right side. My Dr also gave me a small book about thyroid and I wish I could remember the name, but he said that many of us suffer...
