Thank you both for the recommendations about the dairy...We are scheduled to go Wednesday to the allergiest...Jacob keeps grabbing his head and they want to look at his sinues....I am going to mention all of this to them...If I dont get there then I will try the elimination process....THANKS AGAIN... I posted last week all upset about the white blood cells...Well the nurse called today to tell me his results were GREAT...she said before he went gluten-free it was at 165...Not sure what was but whatever it is they tested...Dont remember the name...Well this time they were at 17...WOW that is alot lower...I asked her b/c she is alot nicer about the white...

We didnt really notice anything until after we took Jacob off formula....People around us noticed how he looked before we did b/c we lived with him...By the time he turned 2 he was throwing up several times a day and the diapers were horrible....His belly too looked like the kids you see in Africa and you could really count and run your fingers along every...

  5. We went yesterday to the doctor for them to do the first set of blood test since Jacob has been gluten-free. I had all 5 of them written down to make sure this is what they were testing for...You know since they usually dont tell you anything...Well I asked him and he said he was only doing 2.. Jacob was alittle over 2 when he had the biopsy..and I worried for NOTHING...The longest part of the procedure was waiting to get him in....He was groggy afterwards but did just fine...It was alitt funny to be honest...He wanted to get up and was like a DRUNK... You have nothing to worry about at all!!!

My little one is 2 1/2 and at first I freaked out b/c of the cost of foods but you learn what you can buy in the regular grocery that is regular foods that you just eat....I think my biggest was that I couldnt just go and buy cookies and snack cakes for him which isnt healthy for him anyway so I am glad that he doesnt get it....I do still buy SOME stuff from...

I would talk to the doctor also before I did anything....You really need to take him to a Gastrologist...My son has a allergiest too and had been thru the skin test and when we found out he had Celiac I asked him why he didnt tell me and it is because it is not a skin allergy it has to do with his GI...I am so sorry your going thru so much...I know how much...
  10. Do yall know if the Garlic Power, salt and regular spices are gluten-free? I have noticed in Wild Oats and the places online that they sell spices but I didnt think that spices I would have to be worried about. I havent really lookes at the labels on any of them b/c being so new to the diet we havent gotten really brave to spice anything up with anything...

  12. I just read the post on the colorations playdough being gluten-free....Does playdough in Walmart and toy stores really have Gluten in it?? My child has never played with it but recently we had a friend tell me her little one loves it and I was thinking about getting him some. Gosh you just never know what Gluten is in....I am so new to this I focus on...

My 2 year old is the one with Celiac...me and hubby havent been tested yet...I dont eat bread at all and never have...I do like Pizza thou....I have a 12 year old who has a locked cabinet with his snacks in them and he knows he must LOCK cabinet if he wants to keep it that way....Since I am cooking for a toddlar I use mainly 1 pan for his veggies and stuff...

Oh great...My oldest is allergice to NUTS...so now I have to worry about that....We always ask but I am from Mississippi and they dont cook alot of stuff in Peanut oil...LOL Thanks for the comments....I told hubby last night we would just fix him a plate and take with us...Just to be on the safe side The people in resturants dont amaze me at all...
  15. Has anyone been to Destin Florida and had to shop or try to eat out there? We are going there for vacation and plan on taking most of our stuff to cook at the condo but just in case...Anyone know anywhere to eat and the items...or anyone know anything about the stores there? Oh and I am feeding a 2 year old if that helps I contacted all the people...
  16. We are going for bloodwork soon...What do I need to look for? I was hoping that the Gastro doc would do bloodwork on Jacob every month but he says he wont but every 3 months... He has never said exactly what the blood work does so please tell me what to look for and what should be normal and exactly what they look for in the blood work... Thanks...
  17. Can you give me some suggestions....I feel like my poor baby eats the same stuff over and over!!! Jacob is 2-1/2 so his variety of foods is not that great:) It is so hard when you work to make alot of stuff and it scares me to buy stuff in the stores unless I know 100% that it is gluten-free....I feel alot of times that he is eating a full course meal...
  18. Hi everyone....We had Jacob's first doctor's visit on Thursday to see how he is doing...We have been gluten-free for a month...He gained 6 POUNDS...I was so happy. I think it finally hit us that going gluten-free IS working.....I would never take him off of the gluten-free diet even if I did have doubts but now that I SEE the results it makes it alittle...
  19. Hi, You can go to the website below and they have a list of ROCK ( Raising our Celiac Kids ) support goups in the US....Find your state and see if they have a group in your area.... There is a book by Danna Korn called Kids with Celiac that I have heard is a great book..I am new to the gluten-free diet myself with a 2 year old...I ordered the book last...
  20. Hi My 2 year old is the same way. We are newly diagnoised also about the same time as you. He has been gluten-free for about 3 weeks and his stomach is still huge also. Maybe it will just take time like everyone says...I also heard someone say they didnt see a difference for about 6 months... Good Luck to you I know exactly what your going thru. Sorry...

Jacob's favorite snack has always been Honey Comb cereal so when all of this started I was like Oh Great....I have gotten some list and always on there is Kellogg's Corn Pops which he likes...I pick it up and look at the label and is says-- Contains wheat ingredients. Corn used in this product contains traces of soybeans. So I am confused as to why...
