  1. I've tried going on a gluten free diet again a week ago and before going on this diet, my stool looked small, plain and smooth and I wasn't letting out much for awhile. I've also had small pain on the lower left side of my abs for about a year and my doctors couldn't figure out what was causing it. But about Day 3 on my gluten free diet, I noticed that...
  2. If you accidentally eat some gluten, do you guys immediately change to new toothbrushes?
  3. Have you tried eating more foods with iron in them?
  4. I also do drink lots of water. I've never had this problem before I got on my gluten-free diet.
  5. I was on Day 5 on my gluten free diet. I also can't eat corn, meat, pork, or beef. I just found out any fish is fine for me. But for the past few days, I've been having trouble constipating which probably explains why I had trouble sleeping the past few days. I've tried some gluten alternatives such as beans, rice, veggies, and banana for my constipation...
  6. So the gluten aren't within the Vitamins/Vitamin Supplements themselves but the actual bread or flour?
  7. No, but I'm sure its low as I have been avoiding foods that contain them. I usually don't take vitamins, but would they be a better subsitute? Does it have vitamins that contain the same kind from wheat and corn?
  8. Can celiacs still get all their vitamins by eating vitamin pills? If so, shouldn't that cause some kind of bad reaction? I can't eat gluten, wheat, shellfish, and corn. I've been eating all kinds of fruits, veggies, and beans.
  9. Ok its about Day 4 into going gluten free and I noticed that I had a hard time sleeping since Day 2. I would go to bed at 9pm or 10pm and I'd still be squirming around at 1 or 2am in the morning. I really don't hit my sleeping period until 8am then wake up at 10am. So I've only been getting 2 hours of sleep since Day 2. Is this normal for gluten free dieting...
  10. Beef, meat, pork, chicken, etc. They all eat wheat so wouldn't they still have traces of gluten when you purchase the food?
  11. I'm on Day 2 on my gluten and iodine free diet. Still itching a bit. But is the rash suppose to look much worse before it gets better?
  12. Doesn't sound like you ate anything big today.
  13. It could be safe... just make sure your not allergic to hickory smoke.
  14. I also have something similar right now, though its been improving bit by bit each day I cut down on the wheat and whatnot.
  15. Some people aren't that sensitive to gluten so they can share utensils. But there are always traces of gluten in kitchen utensils and kitchen knives. It may not look like it, but IMO the best way to get rid of gluten completely is to isolate your things.
  16. 1) There are many gluten foods that use an alternative to wheat BUT many of them contain milk. Check to see if you're allergic to milk. Also check to see if you're allergic to salt. I was experiencing the same thing today when my mother cooked some veggies and she added salt in them. Felt itchy all around. 2) Yep. Separate plates, kitchen utensils, cooking...
  17. So I'm thinking of starting this low iodine diet. I notice that my body starts itching a bit after my mother cooked up some veggies and beans with some Morton's salt in them. I'm not having any problems with fresh fruits and veggies, but as far as protein goes... does fresh chicken and dried beans in plastic bags have any salt in them? Or can I cook them...
  18. Went a few days without eating gluten and I have never felt somewhat alive after 20 years of eating gluten. I was able to get most of my chores done the past few days without stopping or resting. Ate some biscotti and sandwich today and I'm back to the old symptoms listed below: Skin rash (DH me thinks, doctors say its eczema but it doesnt look like it...
  19. Ok I just watched a few vids on how to make refried beans. I don't have time to let them sit overnight and then cook them for 4-6 hours. Anything else I can cook at home for cheap that doesnt involve gluten, meat/beef/pork, seafood, and rice?
  20. Well canned foods are cheap for one thing. And I'm allergic to gluten, meat/beef/pork, white rice (I think) and seafood. All of these foods give me a bodily itching reaction and rashes appear. It looks like I can eat any fruit, vegetables, and beans.
  21. I'm hearing all these things about toxic in canned foods. Though, the best way to stay gluten free at home is to eat canned beans and use disposable forks. Is it safe to eat canned foods for the rest of your life?
  22. I purchased a Kirkland Signature brand of hickory smoke ham and there's nothing on the ingredients that lists any traces of gluten.
  23. I used to have a mild form of rash all over my skin, but after going gluten and casein free for 5 days now, the rashes are spreading and turning red. My eczema is also scaling and inflamming red. One night I had a major dose of hives on both of my arms. I haven't broke out like this since I ingested cows milk last year. Is this a normal process for the body...
  24. I'm starting to think that it may be the Extra Virgin Olive Oil I've been eating with my food but I highly doubt it.
  25. So today is my 4th day starting my gluten and casein free diet. I noticed a lot of improvement in my mood swings and I feel good, but I'm still anxious about my skin rashes. But earlier this morning while I was asleep, I noticed that I developed a HUGE rash of hives on both my arms and some parts of my chest and stomach. I woke up scratching it a bit and...
