  1. Last week was the 2 year anniversary for me being diagnosed with celiac disease. Overall I feel 100% better than I did two years ago. Like most of you I have a few vitamin deficiencies to deal with. So here I am still dealing with other issues. For the last year and a half I've gained 15lbs (i know this can be related to celiac disease) Extreme tiredness...
  2. I had a problem as well, my Dr tested me for a bunch of things and for me I had a Folic Acid Defiency. Since I started taking Folic acid daily it has improved and the excessive hair loss has stopped.
  3. I have been gluten-free since Feb 2011 but in the last few months I have been getting frequent heart burn, even while eating things that aren't typical culprits. Has anyone else had frequent Heart Burn after going gluten-free or is this just me getting old LOL?
  4. I second Ancient Harvest Quinoa pasta. By far the best tasting. I buy 10lbs at a time. They are in FB if you want to get more info from them.
  5. I had this problem after I was diagnosed. I went to my doctor and she tested me for multiple vitamin defiencies. I have always been borderline anemic. My test came back and I was definetely lacking in many vitamins as well as Folic Acid. Once I started taking a multi-vitamin and folic acid everyday my hair stopped falling out. I highly suggest you talk...
  6. Thanks everyone for your responses. I went in to see my doc today and she is retesting my thryroid (had it done in Feb 2011 with normal results) She is also testing for other vitamin difiencies. I have always been borderline anemic my whole life so I am sure that may have something to do with it. Now it is a wait and see. I ended up walking out of my...
  7. Hi All, I hope someone can point me in the right direction or has had some similar symptoms. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in Feb 2011 and I have been on a gluten-free diet ever since. I am still having problems and I am not really sure if they are all related to my celiac disease or maybe something more. In the past 6 months I have had to consistently...
  8. Hi Pat, I just found out 2 weeks ago that I had Celiac's. I actually found a lot of answers to my questions here I saw a nutritionist last week and she didn't really have anything to tell me that I hadn't already learned from here. I'm still doing plenty of learning about celiac disease but anytime I am not sure about something I have found answers...
  9. Thanks Ada! I feel like I have learned a ton in this last week but have miles to go. I am sure I will be asking a lot more questions in the weeks to come
  10. YES! this is what I experienced for the most part before I was diagnosed last week. I didn't have the typical stomach issues I had fatigue, brain fog, bone/joint pain that radiated my whole left arm, neuropathy, insomnia. My Doctor ran test for everything under the sun and Celiac's is what came back positive. So I feel your pain literally. I have been...
  11. I hope that you can find something when you go out. I just was diagnosed last week and went out with a friend today for lunch, thought I had ordered something safe but now I am not sure The best advice I keep seeing is don't be afraid to ask. Goodluck!
  12. Hey Strawberry we were diagnosed the same day So I am in the same boat as you for the moment on trying to get my life as gluten-free as possible. I just wanted to wish you luck and to let you know someone else is starting from scratch just like you on this new gluten-free lifestyle.
  13. Hi everyone, I am newly diagnosed with Celiac's (as in the last week) and I am curious how many other's have stories like mine. I have never been someone who had a lot of allergies, stomach issues or anything else of the sort. I really thought that I was going to be diagnosed with RA or Fibromyaglia. For the last couple months I had more of the...
