  1. Oh my goodness... you don't know how happy I am to find this. I've been so incredibly tired lately... I can barely get through school then come home and nap before work. I eat about five times a day as it is, with protein at every interval, but still I find myself dizzy, tired and completely worn out. I went to the doctor the other day and she told me I...
  2. Not being able to eat gluten kinda sucks. Having to take a lactate pill every time I want dairy sucks too. But doing all this has benefits. What are yours? Let's take a look at this from a "glass if half full" perspective... because it can't be all that bad. I'll start. First off, I'm eating all natural foods. Just doing this has made me "cleaner". I...
  3. Could you give me more information on this? I had reese's pieces about three weeks ago and got very sick but thought it was due to the fact that it was from a topping bar at Orange Leaf. I used them today in a gluten-free cookie mix and am now experiencing the same sickness
  4. Could you post a recipe of this? I have those oats and it sounds good!
  5. Yes please! (= I don't like "normal" burgers anyway.
  6. Do you know of a good support group(s) in the area?
  7. My favorites are Whole Foods (the one on 91st and Metcalf seems more gluten-friendly) and Hyvee. Their new gluten-free section is amazing. Walmart brand stuff also will say "naturally gluten free" on it most of the time. So helpful! Where do you go?
  8. I'm the only Celiac in my house and I only have one cousin who has it also. She is not really close to me, though and her mom has been the only one to help so far. Every time I think I've gotten over it, it smacks me too. I'm not copying you, I just understand you completely! It's only been gluten free a month and a half and I'm already losing it...
  9. Wait, two fellow gluten-free people in the Overland Park area?! I'm not alone. (= Any advice for the KS gluten living?
  10. I don't know how much milk you drink but for me, shortly after going gluten free, I had this problem and it turned out to be a lactose intolerance due to the damage in the small intestine. Hope you feel better!
  11. So here's the deal. I've been gluten-free for about a month now. I haven't been tested but see no point in being tested because if this works, it will save my family some much needed money. Within days of starting, I noticed an immediate change. I felt happier (depression was a huge issue) and after a few weeks, I noticed that things just seemed....clearer...
