ARCHIVED "organic Aloe Vera Drink" By Okf - Is It Gluten Free?
Pamela B. posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I had bought a bottle of aloe vera drink at Trader Joe's that's made by a company called "OKF", but I forgot to check first to see if it is gluten free. It doesn't say if it is or not on the bottle, and it has "natural grape flavor" in it. Their website and their Facebook page says nothing about it, and nothing comes up in a Google search. Has anyone tried... -
YAY!!! Thanks!

I have been on the lookout lately for some tins to store loose leaf tea in, but all the ones I have been finding are kind of expensive. I went to Sam's Club a few days ago for something unrelated to that, but I ended up finding this gorgeous gift set of tins that would be perfect for storing tea in, and they were heavily discounted since Christmas was over...

Yay for Labor Day picnics, right? ... ... ... Yeah; didn't think so. I've been gluten free, minus being glutened a few times from CC, for almost 6 months now. I used to have the same mindset with gluten CC when I went out to eat with my friends that I used to have about alcohol ("Sure, I might have a hangover the next day, but the bonding...

I just came here to ask this exact same question. Unfortunately I haven't found an answer yet. -
ARCHIVED Issues With Chicken And Turkey
Pamela B. replied to Pamela B.'s topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I've been using my stainless steel pan with a silicone spoon that has never touched gluten. -
I've been gluten free for a month and a half after test results showed a "borderline gluten intolerance", and now I'm having issues with chicken and turkey, specifically boneless, skinless chicken breast and ground turkey. It makes me extremely fatigued after eating it, which is also what happens when I'm glutened, although this isn't quite as bad as a glutening...

ARCHIVED Amy's Gluten Free Spinach Pizza
Pamela B. replied to Pamela B.'s topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I wonder if it's something about just the pizza. I eat the Amy's "TV dinners" very often (seriously, I've starve if I didn't). Just had one of the teriyaki bowls today, and I eat the cheese enchiladas and the tamale verde a lot and never have issues. I'm thinking the crusts are on the same conveyor belt as the non-gluten-free ones and it doesn't get cleaned... -

I'm glad I'm not alone, but I'm sorry you have to deal with this, too. It sucks. *hugs* -

ARCHIVED "but You Only Have 'borderline' Gluten Intolerance!"
Pamela B. replied to Pamela B.'s topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm in the Kansas City area, but e-hugs are just as welcome! Thank you! *hugs back* I have massive issues with being a burden on people. That, right there, is the biggest issue I am having with this diet. I'm high-functioning autistic and I was always made to feel like I was a burden on others while I was growing up. I tore myself to pieces trying... -
ARCHIVED Amy's Gluten Free Spinach Pizza
Pamela B. posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Forgive me if this has recently been discussed. I just ate part of this pizza tonight, and I feel SO bloated and nauseous. It didn't even taste that great to begin with. Anyone else have this issue with this kind of pizza? Anyone have a good premade frozen pizza brand they can recommend? Or even crusts/dough? I made a pizza with Glutino pizza crusts... -
I'm incredibly lucky that I have a work-from-home job, but even with that I'm only able to work up to 6 hours per day. I had to quit a job back in 2006 to avoid being fired due to my anxiety and fatigue that could very well be caused by gluten and then got fired from the 2 jobs I had after that. I'm trying to hold onto this one for dear life, but I really...

If you're worried about the pain the blood test might cause, you could ask your doctor for a prescription for "EMLA cream" (or its generic form, "lidocaine"). You put it on the skin an hour or two before a medical procedure, and it numbs the area. I have a severe phobia of needles and I used to use it myself. It worked well!

ARCHIVED "but You Only Have 'borderline' Gluten Intolerance!"
Pamela B. posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Well, I did it again. I went to Chipotle and didn't want to embarrass myself by asking them to change gloves for me since it was busy, so I ordered a burrito bowl like normal. Everyone's been telling me I need to not worry about cross-contamination because my test results said I "only have a borderline gluten intolerance", even though my gut (pardon the... -
ARCHIVED Is It Possible To Have Glutening Symptoms After Only 3 Weeks On The Gfd?
Pamela B. replied to zus888's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I could have typed this myself (in fact, I did type a little bit about it and it's in the moderation queue now, hehe). I'm also at 3 weeks on the diet, and I think I glutened myself on Saturday but am not entirely sure. I was being pretty lax with what I was eating, and I had a severe fatigue flareup yesterday. I still have trouble believing that I need... -
ARCHIVED I Think I Got Glutened For The First Time...
Pamela B. posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I think I know what it feels like to be glutened now, after 3 weeks on the gluten free diet. I went to Jose Peppers (Mexican restaurant) Friday night for a coworker meetup. First time at a restaurant since going gluten free. I had called ahead of time, they told me they had a gluten free menu, I requested it when I got there, and I ordered off that menu... -
If you live near a Big Lots, check them out. I know I've seen certified gluten free food there in the past (rice crackers, noodles made out of beans, etc), and yesterday I found about 6 boxes of Betty Crocker gluten free devil's food cake mix for only $2 per box! Normally I've seen it in stores for something like $3.50 per box. They also have a surprising...

ARCHIVED Hi, Everyone... New Here, From Kansas City
Pamela B. replied to Pamela B.'s topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Hi! I'll definitely be joining at least the first group. It'd be nice to know for sure if I had celiac disease, but I don't feel like doing a celiac panel is going to help me any. Since I was only diagnosed as borderline gluten intolerant, I can't imagine I'd have celiac disease with such a low result on my food intolerance panel. Plus the treatment... -
ARCHIVED Going To A Coffeehouse For The First Time Since Gluten Free
Pamela B. posted a topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Hi, everyone! I've been gluten free for two weeks, and I'll be going to a coffeehouse for a meetup on Thursday. This will be my first time at a coffeehouse since going gluten free. What do I need to watch out for? I understand there may be issues with cross-contamination with some of the equipment, but are there any "standard" drinks that are generally... -
