  1. I had to go to a graduation party yesterday at a restaurant. It was actually stressful and I ended up eating nothing. My sister in law made a comment which I found about later regarding gluten. She said that this is a new fad of mine and new diet that I am going on. It was like she meant I am only going gluten free to see if I can lose weight not because...
  2. It dont know if you are on dairy but if so, I would eliminate it completely as well as casein. Good Luck!!!
  3. Maximoo, It was painless and an overall good experience. I had an IV put into my hand and they administered the anesthesia when I got wheeled into the procedure room via the IV. I think I was only out for about 35 minutes. I had no problems afterward with a sore throat. All went well.
  4. thanks so much for your replies!! I am so grateful for this forum!
  5. Had my endo done today and the photos of the stomach and esophagus came back normal. the doctor said that it looked good. I am waiting to see what the biopsy shows. Is it normal to have the stomach look good but the biopsy show damaged villi? Also, he said that since I have the antibodies for Celiac's to start with the gluten free diet and see a dietician...
  6. I dont know if you are completely off dairy but I know for myself that it really messes with me. Dairy makes me intolerant, over emotional and angry. This combined with gluten really screws up my moods. Write down everything you eat and the moods that you associate with when eating them.. hopefully you can find a correlation. Good luck!
  7. I would be as worried about the toxins from the non stick surface just as much the contamination from the gluten. Personally, I would pitch the thing and purchase a stainless steel pan.
  8. Thank you all for your replies. I feel more at ease now. Takala thank you so much for the recipes. I printed them out and am excited to try them, they sound delicious!! Day by day... I agree I need to plan more, then I wont feel so out of control. Thank you all for taking the time to respond.
  9. I feel out of control, like I will never lose the weight I have or feel good again. I found out I am gluten intolerant, casein intolerant, wheat intolerant, no rice, no tomatoes, no garlic, no peanuts among other things. I still have to eat the gluten before my endoscopy is done in a month. I am supposed to be on this 4 day rotation diet so that I dont...
  10. This was my dilemma too..to test or not to test. I have decided to go ahead with it because my children could have Celiac's. It is important to me that I can give them as much accurate medical knowledge about their family as I can. Good Luck to you!!
  11. wow, I missed the facebook thing but I get the gist of what you are saying. A few days ago I went to Red Lobster and had to explain to the server that I needed my broccoli w/o seasoning etc. She wrote it down and apparently told the cook but they came back seasoned and I couldnt eat it. It really irked me because I didnt think it was that much to ask and...
  12. thank you everyone!! I have decided to go ahead and get it done...May 18th is the day! I think my doctor didnt understand why I needed that definitive answer that yes it is Celiac's...she kept saying well you are gluten intolerant so whether you have celiacs or not you still have to stay off the gluten. I need to know absolutely for sure if it is celiacs...
  13. thank you ALL so very much!! you have given me hope that I can be a happy person again. Sometimes I feel like a shell of my former self. In my 20s I didnt feel nearly as bad as I do now. I just got scheduled for an endo on May 18th so I am back on the gluten diet until then. also, irishdaveyboy...thanks so much for the video. put a lot into perspective...
  14. Just diagnosed with Gluten Intolerance and possible Celiacs. I was told by my doctor to wait until I feel better to get the endo done. She said the risk for infection is high because I have had so many G.I. symptoms... my concern is that the endo wont show celiac's if I start eating gluten free now...isnt it best to get it done now rather than go off gluten...
  15. I have just recently found out I am gluten intolerant and most likely have celiacs (no endo done yet). I have been a raging lunatic IMO for awhile. I get angry over the smallest things and lack patience with my everyone. I feel horrible because I am treating my loved ones like junk. I also have a very, very low sex drive...which is a problem of course...
  16. sorry about the vagueness...I am new to this and my head is just reeling with the fact that I may have celiacs. This is what the paper says IgA Negative 7 ~range for negative is less than 10 IgG is Positive 35 ~range moderate to strong is above 30 Ttg is Positive 34 ~range moderate to strong is above 30 I have very low Vitamin D levels, Depression...
  17. I was tested for gluten sensitivity and this is what came back. IgA NEGATIVE tTG POSITIVE IgG POSITIVE The doctor said it looks like it is celiacs. I am unsure because of the low reading of IgA. Has anyone else had test results like this? I dont know if I should have an endo to be certain? Thank you so much for reading this. I am very frustrated...
  18. wow, margot!! I cant believe how brave you were to do that...I dont think I could have. I do think that I would have gone thru with the endoscopy as well. I am someone that likes to get to the bottom of things and have a definitive answer.
