  1. Burdee, Please print the recipe. I have British celiac cookbooks with an American kitchen (hard to measure things!) The cookbooks don't have those wonderful staples like cookies! Can I use millet flakes instead of quinoaq? Shopping is limited here. Thanks a bunch!
  2. I bought a few celiac disease cook books. Most of the recipes call for 3 or 4 different kinds of flour. I try to go to the local health store to get it all but always leaving without one. So, If I don't have soy or soya flour what can I use instead? Is bean and gram the same kind of flour? Can I use gluten free flour instead of reg flour? If anyone...
  3. Peaches, I agree with Burdee on the Magnesium and Vita C. I used to go to the IBS Forum and was told about it. I started taking the Mag about 9 months ago and it did alright for me. I was still having gluten in my diet, though - didn't know about the gluten-free thing yet. Anyway, try it. I also had sevre constipation (not going for a month) and then...

I went off those and everything...

  6. My doctor has put me on a gluten free diet because of my diagnosis with IBS. He seems to think I may be gluten intollerant and unwilling to do the celiac test (military overseas ). I have had sucess with this diet and feel like never before. However, because my bowels have been abnormal forever, I am unsure what they should be like. I know this sounds...
  7. Ha! I was diagnosed with IBS 1 1/2 years ago after 13 years of coplaining that something is wrong with me (my husband agreeing with me of course). We got a new doctor (military) and he said that he thought I might be gluten intolerant and wanted me to try the diet. After 5 weeks gluten free, I feel really well! He seems to think this is the way to go...
  8. Hiya Roo, I have been looking for info on the Grits issue for the last two weeks. I too called Quaker Oats and they told me that they cannot garauntee any of thier products are gluten free. Well, I bought the Grits anyway and am not doing well. I used it for the first four days and had gas pains and then loose stools. (sorry for the graphics) Anyway...
