  1. I think that might be down to that chocolade bar you've been eating (as mentioned in your other thread). Go without it for a while and see the gluten-free diet improves your constitution. Do keep an eye out on your weight. My GP warned me that if my weight was dropping, I'd have to contact him immediately so he could refer me to a dietitian.
  2. Better get started on that food diary. You should get whomever you're living with to understand that it's very easy to contaminate gluten-free foods. Even a few breadcrumbs might be enough to trigger a reaction. You should probably get your own set of pans and your own storage space. Don't prepare meat in a pan that was previously used to prepare...
  3. I had some yoghurt yesterday night and it was answered by a prompt toilet visit when I got up this morning and strolled around a bit. I had even more trouble digesting lactose at the start of my diet (7-8 months ago). I'd have pass very large stool twice a day. Now it's gotten better but I still get cramps and will be forced to pay the toilet a visit...
  4. I'm 8 months into my gluten-free diet now and if I ingest Gluten I'll end up becoming depressed and tired. Sometimes hard to figure out because I gradually fall into it. My stomach will start protesting as well. I think that if you were to ask 7 people here on a forum what they'd have to look out for, you'd get 7 different answers. I think you'd have to start...
  5. Have you tried going on a gluten-free diet for a few weeks?
  6. Hey Twinklestars, Just wanted to hop in after you told me you also posted your story here. Must say this sounds very familiar: Although I still occasionally mix up words (I think I'm simply socially inept, hah) I can fully subscribe to the walking around in a daze. To me it was as if though the world moved faster than I could keep up with....
  7. I was very, very fond of bread. And cornflakes. I guess gluten-free bread took its place. I bake it myself. Not half as good, though. Very dry stuff and unsuitable for peanut butter. The cornflakes by Sch
  8. Well, it took a food store owner to tell me I needed a gluten-free diet it but I guess if I had known what I know now, these would have been my major indicators; Tiredness after producing stool Severe depression Tiredness after eating sugary foods Easily agitated on an empty stomach
  9. From what I understand continuing to eat gluten-rich foods might (eventually) lead to bowel cancer or a complete inability to digest lactose. (Assuming that you have celiac's disease) Not to mention a whole lot of other side-effects from a stomach that is incapable of properly assimilating nutrients. Even if you do not have celiac's disease, this will...
  10. Hello all, Thanks for the posts! What you wrote strikes me as very familiar, Eatmeat4good. I've got some insurance but it won't cover many of the things that we're discussing here. I'll have to pick and match carefully or perhaps just postpone it until it's economically viable. Based on what people have written in this thread, I'm compiling...
  11. Hello, I'm not very keen on joining fora on any subject but since I only run into people who know people that are on a gluten-free diet but I never actually get to talk to people who are on a gluten-free diet I'd really like to get a chance at doing so. I have not been diagnosed with celiac disease nor a wheat allergy but I do know that a gluten-free...
  12. Hi AVR1962, I do not live in Germany but I live close to its border. Und ich spreche Deutsch.
  13. From what I understand Celiac disease is permanent. It's an auto-immune disease so your body will continue attacking any gluten that enters your system. Not sure if a wheat-allergy is permanent, though. Your ability to deal with milk products might improve, though. It has for me after several months. Still, shouldn't eat too much of it or I'll get gas...
  14. Hi Nihao, New member here. I have recently 'diagnosed' myself with a gluten intolerance. I also developed a reaction to dairy which are similar to those I'd get from when I'd eat gluten but in a milder (and much more tolerable) form. I am not getting myself tested, I have completely lost faith in our medical system. I went to several GP's and none...
