  1. I"ve had 2 negative blood tests, negative biopsy over 6 months ago. Now I have iron deficiency anemia. GI said the only other cause is bleeding in the gi tract and there's no way I could be positive after having negative results. I have another upper endoscopy coming up and wondering if I should push to have another biopsy for celiac? oh, and my cycles...
  2. Another question: since it's a mild allergy(my ears turned red after eating yogurt and having a drink that had milk in it yesterday..and today I tried milk and the top of my ear is red..looks like a sunburn)....is it possible for this mild allergy to turn into a severe allergy? Do need to get an epi pen just in case? also, did the reaction not show...
  3. Thanks for the replies! so an intolerance would cause my ears to turn red? I always thought that'd be an allergic reaction. I"ll cut out dairy/milk and see if the post nasal drip gets better.
  4. It was a blood test. I just found my copy and it says tests performed utilizing ImmunoCap specific IgE allergen methodology. All the ranges are 0.00-.34 and my results for all are <.35
  5. horrible post nasal drip and my ears turn red! Allergy testing shows no allergies at all!! So if it is an allergy, is it low level? IgG? IgA? IgE?
  6. I'm not really sure if it's related to gluten/food allergies. I"m going to call and have him tested for celiac(he was tested once before and it was negative)and food allergies. Is there anything else I should have tested? His behavior problems are: meltdowns, not listening, shouting out in class etc....now he might not get to go to a regular second grade...
  7. aren't the samples supposed to be taken from the esophagus? I"m sure that's where my samples were taken. Thanks for the info, I was told eosinophilic esophagitis was ruled out, just think it's weird first I had stricture and now a schatzki ring. Am taking meds for acid reflux, so since the meds are controlling that, then why do these strictures/rings keep...
  8. Had another upper endoscopy because of trouble swallowing and doc found I have a Schatzki ring, I tested negative for celiac through blood test and biopsy but was wondering if anyone has found a correlation between having a schatzki ring and celiac. just curious!
  9. Thanks! foam, did you have to fast for this test? I was told to fast but can't seem to find anything on the 'net saying so.
  10. I have no idea. My test is tomorrow and I"m sure it will probably take 7-10 days to get the results. I will post back when I get it.
  11. Hi , yes I know, but he didn't say they would do another celiac panel using IgG and also basically said I am negative case closed on that. He just said test for immune electrophoresis.hm.
  12. so he said even though I tested negative, and with a negative biopsy, to go ahead and avoid gluten, corn, soy and potatoes! I was going to bring up the low IgA but he brought it up first! I am having trouble swallowing food and pills again, so because of the low Iga, he wants to do an immune electrophoresis, which I guess will check IgM, IgG and IgE to...
  13. Just wondering, is anything below the lab's range considered deficient or just low? Seems like everything I find on the internet about this mainly talks about selective IgA deficiency which is below 10(I think)...so if mine is at 76 and the low end of the range is 91 wouldn't that be considered deficient? curious as to what others think? if you have a...
  14. Thanks, It was late when I read it, marking that site off my list!
  15. Open Original Shared Link it talks about foods and cross reactions.
  16. With the severe symptoms you son has, I would not put gluten back in his diet. It is not worth the risk and you already know your son's reaction to gluten. I understand the need to know with the tests but you already know he has a severe problem with gluten that can land him in the hospital. I would not do it. period.
  17. The high end of the range for TSH was recently changed to 5!! yes 5!!! You can order thyroid tests from www.canaryclub.org or as someone mention, find another doctor!
  18. ok, I looked through my papers and I do have the biopsy result. I'm not sure how I missed it, I guess I was expecting all the samples to be listed and they weren't. Turns out, 4 samples were taken. I requested the biopsy for Celiac because I have Hashimoto's(which I know is in the risk group for Celiac) and heartburn/ very severe reflux. I had to have...
  19. If the biopsy was negative, how would I know if I am non celiac gluten intolerant? Are you going by the low total serum IgA?
  20. I had an endoscopy back in October and am just now got the results mailed to me....I am disappointed that I was only sent the blood test results and not the biopsy results....I have an appt. at the beginning of March so will make sure I get those copies. Anyway, everything looks negative, but total serum IgA was marked low. hm. mine is 76 and the range...
  21. Yes I do have environmental allergies..actually just found out. The allergist said that food allergies don't cause post nasal drip or the redness that is on the skin under my eyes.
  22. there isn't a gluten free section at my wal-mart but there is at Kroger..that's where I shop the most. More expensive though..I think it's too bad that gluten-free stuff is more expensive..like pasta...gluten-free flours are pricey too for the amount that you get. I know I need to eat healthier but sometimes I want a donut, ya know!
  23. Thank you, I'm going to read about it...how long did it take before you noticed a change in behavior and what changes did you see? thanks!
  24. and what were the results? did you notice a difference in behavior? my ds sometimes won't pay attention in class, likes to do what he wants to do, a few days ago at recess when his name was called to line up he ran off, last night at the xmas program he kept bopping his head and making faces...at the end his teacher said he turned his back to everyone and...
