That seems to make complete sense. Someone like the cleaning crew. They may even actually truly need the meal to have something to eat for themselves or a family member. However, one never knows for sure.

The ingredients just say "whole grain brown rice". Thanks for the Hy-Vee link. Wish I just knew for sure about foods. I'm spending way too much time in the store and I can't think clearly right now. I appreciate the replies. Debbie

Is Hy-Vee Whole grain brown rice gluten free? Sorry for the dumb question from this very ill newbie. I planned to make a chicken and rice dish from one of the cookbooks recommended by you good people. When I double-checked my Gluten-Free Grocery Shopping Guide, it lists Hy-Vee Instand Brown and Natural Long Grain Brown rice, but not the Whole Grain Brown...

Thank you so much for all the replies! Debbie -
Hello everyone, Three weeks now supposedly gluten free (just found out yesterday that my special biotene dry mouth gum may contain gluten). Yikes! I chew that pretty much all day. Now chewing "Spry" that is gluten free but not near as good for the severe dry mouth issue. Anyway, I was never much of a cook anyway, but I did have some rather tasty...

Bless your heart! I hope you begin feeling better soon. I understand the fear of been put under, but please believe me when I say that part of the Endo was a piece of cake. I didn't like having to do without water for so long since I have severe dry mouth issues from another autoimmune disease. As far as the procedure itself, I went under very...

ARCHIVED I Had Hoped To Never Return To This Place
Debbie48 replied to zus888's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Your posting made me cry. Please, please do not give up hope! I just started the diet so I cannot say that I know how difficult it is over the long haul. However, I have been very, very sick for the last 7 months and doctors can't figure out what's wrong. Two things that did come back were positive blood work for celiac and I do carry the gene. However... -
Does anyone else have hand tremors? Shaky/jerky fingers? I've had so many strange symptoms for the past 7 months and they're only getting worse. I'm trying to figure out what is going on, but doctors don't have a clue. When my blood work came back positive on the antigliadin antibodies a few weeks ago, I was hopeful that this might be the cause...

Oh, I'm so pleased to hear I can keep my nice cookie sheets and my club aluminum ware. Thanks so much for the reply!

I just went gluten free 3 weeks ago. Still not feeling very well but I know it may take a long time. I have a few questions, please. I am way underweight due to the last 7 months of horrible symptoms. I'm trying to eat what I can, but I've learned you can't gain much weight no matter how many fruits and vegetables you eat. I'm also eating meats and...

ARCHIVED Are These Celiac Symptoms?
Debbie48 replied to Twitch's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Neuro/muscular problems have been my main symptoms but some GI problems too. I tested positive on 1 out of 4 tests on blood work. Gene test came back with the celiac gene, category "high" risk for celiac. My biopsy was negative but it was done 3 months before celiac disease was suspected and only two biopsies were taken, so I don't put much stock in that... -

ARCHIVED Anyone Able To Interpret The Genetic Testing
Debbie48 replied to Debbie48's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
They did 4 different tests on blood work before the gene test. Here's what came back. I'm so very happy for you! As someone has stated here . . . you should celebrate! I also believe you should taper off the meds. I would talk to your doctor about that but it just seems to make sense. Best of luck to you as you try to do that.

ARCHIVED Anyone Able To Interpret The Genetic Testing
Debbie48 posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Today I got my genetic testing back. It shows category #4 DQ2 heterozygous. Related risk high. Though I see there is a Very High and Extremely High category, in addition to Moderate, Low, and Extremely Low. Specifically, DQ2.5 (HLA DQA1*05:DQB1*201) are listed. The only blood work that came back positive was the Anti-gliadin IGA, which was ... -
ARCHIVED Just Diagnosed Yesterday
Debbie48 replied to LReynolds's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
If you don't mind my asking, which part of your blood tests came back positive for celiac? Do you happen to know? Both my son and I had the celiac blood panel done last week and we both showed abnormally high in only Gliadin Antibody, IGA. Normal range was given 0-15 and I had 24 while my son's was 36. Anyone happen to know if it makes a difference... -
ARCHIVED Interpretation Of Blood Work Results
Debbie48 replied to Debbie48's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Is it uncommon to have a positive Gliadin Antibody, IGA and negative for all other blood work and a biopsy that shows no damage? Also, does the number mean anything at all? For example, a 24 versus a 36 when the normal Gliadin Antibody, IGA is 0-15? -
Can anyone explain/interpret the following blood work results? Immunoglobulin A-serum: in normal range Gliadin Antibody, IGA: abnormally high Gliadin, IGG: in normal range Tissue Transglutaminase-A: in normal range Any help would be much appreciated!

ARCHIVED My Favorite Gluten Free Meal And Snack Is . . .
Debbie48 replied to Debbie48's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you so much for all the great ideas, everyone! I really like corn tortillas. For the breakfast burritos, I assume you mean the soft ones. I bought Mission Corn Tortillas. Right now I'm hungry and frustrated because I'm second guessing everything I'm eating. Still very hopeful though. I purchased some of the Udi's bagels. Someone had it... -

Hello everyone, I am 48 years old and just diagnosed with celiac disease. I have had some symptoms for many years now, but within the past 6 months have developed bone and joint pain, sensory peripheral neuropathy, muscles cramps, muscle twitching and more. I'm relieved to have a diagnosis. I am sooooo hopeful this diet and lifestyle change will make...
