  1. My own personal experience is that as much as food can effect how the body reacts and behaves sometimes you just need a professional to help you get some answers. My second who was diagnosed with coeliac at 7 has suffered from eating issues, behavioural issues, learning issues and none have been any different since him being gluten-free (he is now 11). ...
  2. Just a note about the family question. My 3 children have been diagnosed with celiac disease so my husband and I both got gene tested to find out what side of the family it comes from (I have been told it's very unusual for 3 of my children to have celiac disease and the only one who doesnt yet is an ID twin so she has the gene) I just got the results back...
  3. It's very hard to watch your family keep getting sick. We have 3 coeliacs in my house (3 of my 4 children) and when my oldest was diagnosed 13 years ago it took about 18 months where he would constantly get sick. I believe it was family members who we lived with contaminating everything (Not saying this is what's happening to you)We moved out and he finally...
  4. Yeah if you have 1 Auto Immune they say you are likely to have 2 or 3 of them. My son has Dermatitis as well and my daughter has alopecia on top of the coeliac.
  5. How old is he? Tests under the age of 4 can be unreliable. If they keep coming back negative and you see improvements on a gluten-free diet I would take him off gluten as he may have a Gluten intollerance but not be a coeliac. After you have done all the testing you have done all you can do with it, so I would take it into your own hands and see how he...
  6. Hi hun, YES it does get easier. My oldest was diagnosed at 14 months (Tests for children under 4 can be unreliable)he had a positive blood test and positive biopsy so all my children have been easy to diagnose. He is 14 now and YES it can be hard on them with their social life but you just need to teach them the strong importance of sticking to the diet...
  7. Hi again, so far 3 of my 4 children have coeliac. The only one who doesnt have it is my daughter who is an Identical twin, so she obviously has the gene. I know she has 80% chance of getting it so I'm not worried about it happening. I am just more curious as to if any of you have ID twins with coeliac or have 1 with coeliac and one without. Thank...
  8. Hi everyone, I have 4 children, Dylan is 14, was diagnosed when he was 14 months after being very sick, Reagan is 11, diagnosed at 7 without any symptoms and Identical twins who are now 3 one of which was diagnosed at 18 months after being very sick. There is no family history of it in either side of family so my husband and I have had the Gene test done...
  9. Hi, My son was diagnosed when he was 14 months old and he was the only one who it effected their growth (3 of my children have coeliac) It took about 6 months for him to start improving and catching up on his height. He is 14 years old now and his height is fine (although he believes he is short lol)Once everything has healed you should see improvment...
