  1. When I was eating gluten, I would get pain on my left side down my back and what I call "stomach sounds" would accompany them. I have not had that happen for 4 weeks, same time I've been off gluten. Patty
  2. Hi Tammy- I'm only an hour away from you, I live in Vanceboro, Me. about 6 miles from McAdam. I was thinking about taking a ride in there to check out the Superstore, I heard they have some gluten-free stuff. Is it worth my trip? I only have 1 healthfood store nearby in Calais and I've just ordered some mail order foods to try...I'm very new at this...
  3. Wow, I had no idea hair loss was a symptom of celiac disease too. I have had bouts of this for many years. I was just diagnosed last month but the more I read here, I realize that I have had alot of various symptoms since I was a teenager, I'm 34 now. I wonder if I should have some tests run for my bones, etc? -Patty

    ARCHIVED Anxiety Meds

Hi Jennifer- I also took Effexor for awhile. I think it is a good medication, but it is a strong one. I did get the dopey feeling from it, but I was deeply depressed at the time and needed a strong medication. I also gained weight on it. However, if you are suffering from an anxiety disorder, you may want to ask your doctor about Lexapro. It is a ...

  7. I just went gluten free 3 weeks ago and before that I varied 1-3's all the time. Good days and bad. Since I changed my diet, I have been mostly 4 & 5's. This diet has totally confirmed things for me, physically and emotionally. I sure hope it continues to be that way. 2old4-Patty

    ARCHIVED Grrrr....

Or how about the reply, "It can't have that much in it? Does it?" Like it's a diet that's okay to break whenever you want a treat. I feel like saying, "Sure buddy, are you going to cover my shift when I can't make it to work tommorrow?" Ha, Ha, I bet not...especially since I'm his boss... 2old4- Patty
  10. Thank you Kaiti for the list and the sites! And for the other replies, thank you all. Wow, I've been on here for a couple of days and have learned so much. Thank you. I have just tried to eat basic things for the last three weeks and have done okay, some variety would be helpful. I am really thankful to find out what is wrong with me after all this time...
  11. Hi, I am feeling the strain too, I'm actually still "grieving" over my diagnosis of 3 weeks ago. Despite my name, (2old4) I'm only 34, I chose it because I feel I've had this disease all of my life but I have just gotten a doctor that would take me seriously. Now I am just trying to cope with simple things, like can I have a soda? What kind? I'm sooo clueless...
