ARCHIVED Who Is Currently Taking Synthroid?
BrittLoves2Run posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
My Endocrinologist does not want me on generic, and recently put me on Synthroid. I was concerned about the CC issues that Synthroid says can be possible, and tried to get Tirosint. Only problem is that it's $75 a month WITH insurance. I started taking Synthroid about 2 weeks ago. Very shortly after I started getting all these strange things happening... -

Hey all.. haven't been here in awhile but I thought this was worth letting everyone know. I am on doxycycline because it is believed I got Lyme Disease. I've been on it 7 days, and have been feeling progessivley worse. Joint aches, stomach issues, horrible headaches.. when I looked up this drug today it says that the drug contains Wheat Starch which IS gluten... -

BrittLoves2Run replied to BrittLoves2Run's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
@missys mom Oh I know how it is. When I don't eat, I get shaky, weak, feel faint, get very hot and feel pretty awful before I eat again. I had to get up in the middle of the night last night TWICE to eat something because I was feeling So hungry and awful. The second time I could not go back to sleep. I think I will check my glucose again tomorrow morning... -
ARCHIVED Celiac And Diabetes
BrittLoves2Run replied to BrittLoves2Run's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I asked my step dad last night if I could use his monitor.. it was about 1 hour after eating gluten free pasta with butter for dinner. It was 85. He is dibetic and said that seemed low for just eating, but from what i'm hearing from a lot of others is that is within normal range. I went out and bought a monitor this morning and 2 hours after eating breakfast... -

Hello, I was reading my latest issue of Living Without and read an article that said there is a link between Celiac and Diabetes and that you may be at an elevated risk. Does anyone out there have both? Which were you diagnosed with first? I'm worried I may have it. I have a lot of the symptoms, but I don't want to go to the doctors and look like...

ARCHIVED Vitamins/minerals?
BrittLoves2Run posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hello Everyone! I've been gluten free for almost 2 months now. When I got the news my doctor didn't really give me any information, so I did a lot of research on my own. I'm taking a general vitamin, and sublingual b12. Is there anything else that is crucial that I should take? I've been feeling amazing! I've had a few CC indcidents, but other than that... -
I miss A LOT of things, but then I think back to how freakin' sick I was and know that it's just not worth it. This is a life long thing. I have to accept i'll never have them again and just stick to the "new" foods I can have. I feel you on the Mac and Cheese. I make the Annies kind and I really like it. I've also found some Gluten Free Chocolate chip muffins...

I found the easiest thing in the beginning was to just stick to things that I knew wouldn't be a problem. Meats, veggies, rice.. If I NEEDED some kind of snack, I made SURE it was labeled Gluten free. It's very overwhelming! Remember, we've all been there! It DOES get easier!

ARCHIVED My Husband Doesn't Get It
BrittLoves2Run replied to eborzecki's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I know this probably doesn't sound like much of a relief but I was just diagnosed on 1/24 and my boyfriend and I broke up on 1/29. We'd been together for about 10 months and while we DID have other issues, this was the straw that broke the camels back. He got very mad at me because I did not want to go to his parents for dinner and it just escalated from... -
I'm not having very much luck with Gluten free soups. I tried the "Imagine" soup in the resealable bottles. Most of them are terrible. The only one I liked was the butternut squash. Anyone know of some soups that actually have some flavor to them??

This past weekend I went to Red Robin for my first meal out Gluten free. I asked for their gluten free menu and the girl only brought me 1 of the 2 printed pages. I only knew because I had looked up the gluten free menu before I left the house. I ended up getting a burger and instead of bread they wrapped it in lettuce. It sounded good in theory, but with...

BrittLoves2Run replied to Prezwilson15's topic in Related Issues & Disorders

ARCHIVED Gluten Free But Made In A Facilty With Wheat
BrittLoves2Run posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I was just diagnosed 5 days ago, so i'm a newbie. I found some items like Amy's.. it says on the box "GLUTEN FREE" but then when you look at the box it says it's made in a facility that processes wheat, soy, ect. Do you stay away from these items anyway? Are they just claiming the FOOD itself is gluten free? Isn't that a little misleading? -
ARCHIVED Cross Contamination?
