  1. I'm a little suspicious that legumes might be a part of the problem. I can now verify that lentils were getting me for sure and I'm going to cut out ALL legumes for a week to see what happens (so no split peas..). I am losing a lot of weight so starting to seriously consider adding fish back in. (I REALLY do NOT like the way it tastes, but my BF is from the...
  2. That diet sounds good but it appears to be heavily reliant on fruit and dairy and I can't have any form of sugar because I also have Lyme Disease. So far with the Celiac I've had to eliminate dairy, soy, eggs, coffee, spinach, kale (coffee, spinach and kale I react BADLY to because I guess I was having them too frequently? I used to have a cup of coffee and...
  3. I just finished an elimination diet (soy, dairy, coffee, spinach and kale were culprits) but I snacked on nuts the whole time as they were allowed on the particular elim diet I followed. I guess I could try cutting them out for a week to see. And I haven't checked cat food.. I rarely get any on me when feeding my critters but couldn't hurt to look into.
  4. Dang, like quinoa? That got me good a few months ago. The only thing is that I've been having this particular brand of lentils all year with no problems. (but I suppose as I'm getting more sensitive maybe I'm only just now reacting to some trace amount they may have? ugh.) There have also been days this last week that I haven't had any lentils and my symptoms...
  5. I'm figuring out the hard way quickly that I am among the "super sensitives." Over the last few months a few "GLUTEN FREE" products have got me (ones I have researched here and found only the super sensitives react to) and I've had to return to eating barely anything processed. I've basically been glutened from one thing or another for 2.5 months now and...
  6. Okay, yall. Finally had a chance to call Colgate. They said the Wisps do not contain soy but they can not verify that their ingredients do not come in contact with gluten. They were incredibly friendly and sent me a bunch of full price coupons for toothpaste. AND the pine nuts I used in dinner that night (Fischer) are also apparently manufactured in...
  7. no dairy, no soy--react to both.
  8. yeah, I was originally assuming it couldn't have been the wisp because I know Colgate toothpaste is gluten free. But that's the only thing out of the ordinary I had that day/week. That same day (thanks, food diary) I did make a mock pesto out of pine nuts and basil, so I'm definitely going home and double checking those pine nuts. Aside from that I suppose...
  9. So I've been attempting to do an elimination diet for over a month but I've had a couple of setbacks with glutenings. Quinoa got me the first time and it lasted about a week, which has been typical glutening duration for me. But right after I started feeling decent from that I slipped and used a Colgate Wisp (little disposable toothbrushes) and it got me...
  10. Yeah, that's definitely what I'm geared up to do now. This morning I went and stocked up on all the ingredients for my green shakes to begin an elimination diet with a fast of those. The difficult part of doing an elimination diet is my supplements. I'm following an herbal protocol for Lyme Disease so I have to take a bazillion herbs/vitamins. I learned the...
  11. Yeah, nausea may have started around the time I started probiotics.. Do you take something else in place of probiotics?
  12. Soy is my next suspect to investigate, I think. Don't think it's magnesium because I supplement lots of that for the Lyme Disease.
  13. Yes, just had more follow-up blood tests done. Somehow I'm too high in B12 (weird because I'm a vegetarian..but I do take a B complex), iron is rising/supplementing that, and D is very deficient. I've been having severe muscle aches and since adding more D (5,000 IU/day) the muscle aches are all but disappeared (thank baby jeebus). I thought maybe the nausea...
  14. Hey gang. I was officially diagnosed back in April, but I had started to go 100% gluten-free mid-February after doing an elimination diet and realizing that it was gluten that was causing all my severe tummy trubs and rashes. Like most here, healing has been a roller coaster. It doesn't help that I also have Lyme Disease and all this stomach hooey feels...
  15. Thank you!!!! {{{{{{HUGS BACK AT YA}}}}}
  16. This is a lovely topic, thanks for starting it.
  17. I have Lyme Disease and the Celiac symptoms started last September. Officially diagnosed Celiac end of this last March. The last 6 months have been a blur of unbearable pain. As we all well know, going completely gluten free has a steep learning curve and I feel like I am always either accidentally glutening myself or having a lyme flare-up. Always in such...
  18. I'm a newbie to all this and have been playing it safe the last few weeks-just eating fruits & veggies & lentils-in fear of accidentally glutening myself before my vacation to Coasta Rica. I leave on Tuesday and sure enough, I slipped and did something to gluten myself this weekend. GRR! (It was either PF Chang's or too many gluten-free crackers at...
  19. Yo! Relative newbie here. I have lyme disease and my doctor urged me to go gluten-free when diagnosed with lyme (wheat is inflammatory/lyme often causes Celiac/autoimmune diseases so most lyme docs urge patients to go gluten-free from the start). But because I didn't think I had a gluten intolerance I followed more of a gluten reduced diet rather than 10...
