robertwilburn35 replied to macv2pr's topic in Sports and Fitness
I am an athlete with a very sensitive gleuten intolerance. the onlly protien suplement I have found to not give me problems is "fast digesting ISO-Z5" isolate protien. if taken with H2O there is only 140 cal. I take mine with milk and I double the recomended dose. recomended dose is 2 scoops per day. I take 2 scoops in am and 2 in pm. vit B-12, and... -

I am sorry for the diagnosis and don't mean to sound cynical. I am not. However play the hand your dealt. Dont deal, theres no bargain, no easy way. It sucks. That said you will get through it and it will still suck. As your body heals you will feel better and life will get easier. You will learn what you can and can't have and will see that after... -
ARCHIVED Has Anyone Experienced One Or Some Of These Mental Health Issues?
robertwilburn35 replied to L.O.C.T.'s topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
sometimes I think gluten causes the problem of mental illness and sometimes I think my symptoms caused my mental illness. now anytime I go someplace there is food I get anxious so now i wonder if worrying about the gluten causes my anxiety. then other times my anxiety causes me to be anxious. I know it sounds funny but thats the way I feel at least right... -

ARCHIVED Why Can't My Body Handle Long Runs?
robertwilburn35 replied to Kat Kuz's topic in Sports and Fitness
You might wanna try to build up the iron, folic acid and b12 in your blood. I know they appear WNL but if your body is defficient for a long time then it gets used to it. Primarily, the kidneys perform and secrete the hormones that increase rbc count which is rarely WNL for me even when my H and H are. So, I have been increasing these vits as a sort of... -
ARCHIVED When Did Your Neuro Symptoms Subside
robertwilburn35 replied to ker0pi's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease

ARCHIVED Curious About What Vitamins Are You Deficient?
robertwilburn35 replied to roxieb73's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hannisa, Calcium is nesesary for all muscle contractions so that is why with certain dysrythmias dr orders calcium channel blockers to slow or control Heart Rate. -
ARCHIVED Curious About What Vitamins Are You Deficient?
robertwilburn35 replied to roxieb73's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
That is wierd but one poss explanation is due to total iron, bound and free iron levels. total is obvious. bound is that iron that is calculated in form of rbc count, and free. so if you are low on free iron you are getting enough but your body is using it to make rbc which is why total may be normal. however if free is high then you are getting it in... -
The nice part of having a dx is that a good dr will order lab work and check the appropriate levels of things like b12 bit d fe, h&h, cbc ect. Plus with the dx the dr can order those blood work under codes so you get the insurance to pay the max they are suppose to pay rather than not paying for certain test due to codes

ARCHIVED Can Anyone Help With Diagnosis?
robertwilburn35 replied to sahmom4cj's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I agree that you should ask those why questions and will the test make a difference in treatment. Is the Dr concerened about results for some other reason than ciliac? I think to know the who, what, when why and where is prudent prior to deciding not to go through with the test. However I also agree that its your body your choice so if you dont like the... -

ARCHIVED Transition Symptoms
robertwilburn35 replied to Dedic's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
It can take up to 2 months for your body to completly "get used" to gluten free. I made alot of mistakes in the 2 months and although I was feeling better I would have mistakes that set me back. I never had tennitus, and don't know if that is normal, but I have had the palpitations and dizziness, and fog head. Stay strong and keep looking on this site... -
ARCHIVED Transition Symptoms
robertwilburn35 replied to Dedic's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I had many of the same side effects when I had to go gluten free. When I get glutened I have many of those same symptoms return. Bartfull is right. Once gluten free it is worse to ingest gluten so its very important to check everything. -
one time I pretended to not feel well so I could leave since I didn't feel safe eating there. at first I felt bad but then not so much til about a week later they approached me about some pics I posted on facebook on the day I left their house early. Honesty, from then on.

thanks for your help and advice. I will update and I keep looking it up on the net. I look forward to your help when I get them.

I didn't post the results cuz the dr didn't do them. Wednesday I was at the office and asked for blood work and am on for a bmp, cbc, lipid panel, folic acid, hemo A1C, psa, total tsh, vit d. I took the liberty to check off t3 free and t4 free b12 and Iron before taking the paper to the lab for testing. I may get scolded or charged for those but by that...

what I mean by which type of gluten is that I really dont know what reacts the harshest with my system(not that I am trying different types on purpose). For example I had a chicken and shrimp dish with a burbon sauce and my sypmtoms were present but very mild. I was making a tomato basil soup and didn't have my normal base I use and used one from cambels...

ARCHIVED Why Can't My Body Handle Long Runs?
robertwilburn35 replied to Kat Kuz's topic in Sports and Fitness
I have been gluten free for a lil over three months and have begun feeling better on my long runs. I am 42 and my long rruns are only 12-15 miiles but seem to recover well. I only take celi-act supplement and am very ridgid on the gluten-free diet. that is the best I got for ya. -
I think that some of my chemistry panels were on the low side but never technically low. Same with h&h was borderline on the low. and as I think back it has always been that way when I have had physicals. When the docs see "normal" even when they are borderline they blow it off. Now however I collected my tests and the pattern has always been there...

I have had all those tests. Stress, echo, right and left heart cath, chest and abdominal ct, egd, colonoscopy, cmp, cbc, tsh and ciliac panel and everyone has been negative. So stopped taking all of their drugs and started the diet and that seems to be what worked so far. Its only when I add gluten that the symptoms occur. I think its a "sensitivity"...

Thank you for the support. I am really "afraid" to try too many new things because as I went to a Paleo diet at first, as strictly as possible, to avoid "mistakes." As I have added things to my diet the mistakes come and I HATE the s&s of it. I am still not sure of which type of gluten is the biggest reactor. I just know when I am having a "little...

I am so fustrated. I am still a bit new to the gluten free diet, and still learning what has gluten or casin or soy or possibly contaminated oats or whey. Fillers, "natural flavors" which are not, blah blah blah. Today I walked into the store for dinner and spent 45 min looking for something I wanted and was allowed to have. I am seriously afraid to get...
