  2. Wow!!!, Thanks for all the great info. You would think that the marketing dept. of these companies would get wise and make ALL their products gluten-free. This must be a substantial loss of money to their companies. Perhaps in time they will become the wiser. Annie
  3. Hello, My dad was born in England, my mom was born in Ireland. I am first generation American. I have asked my mom to get tested. She has has stomach and bowel issues for years. I suspect she has some gluten isseus. I believe that is where my son and I got it from. Ironically her doctor is from Ireland and just went there for a visit. You think...
  4. Dear Megan, I just read your post. Bath and Body Works is one of my favorite products. I have not been using any of their lotions for a while because I am skeptical of everything. I have however been using body sprays. I guess I better even check them in case. Thanks for the input. Annie

  6. Hi All ! To me that sounds the same as your going to outgrow blue eyes or red hair. Yes you can cover them up to look different but underneath your still a blue eyed redhead!!!! I don;t think you can outgrow it. That is just wishfull thinking, but thanks for sharing....... Annie
  7. Dear Michelle, O NO !!!! I had no idea about the juice I have beed drinking it!!! And my mom just bought my son a six pack of it That's why I think this post is going to be helpful to us newbies. I hope more people put in some input. Especially on those obscure items we use every day, like tums and lip balm. It is something...

  9. Howdy All, Today I took some recipes from the forum and went shopping ,Yahoo! I deceided if I have to live this way better get use to it.I went to about 7 stores. The health food store was my last stop of the day. I only went there after I exhausted all other possibilities. The prices in the international isles were far less. This is imp. to me...
  10. Hi Kay I'm so glad you decided to register. I am in the process of printing out your recipe. Tommorrow I am going shopping to see if I can find all the ingredients. Maybe you can find the time to email me a good bread recipe??? I worry about when school starts. Last year before knowing my son was gluten intolerant, there were days he went...
  11. Carrie and Kaiti, Thanks for the replies. I have known for a long time that MSG is bad for you. However there are still those times I use it. Like in meatloaf and dips, that old stand -by Lipton Onion Soup Mix is good. Unfortunatley it has the dreaded MSG. But now that I need to be gluten-free I was not sure it was allowed in the diet. I...
  12. Hi Amanda's Mommy, Sure that will not be a problem. Campell's says you have to stick to the list. For instance an example they told me about was, if the list says you can have the 12 oz. can of chilli(I don't have the list yet so I don't know what is on it) that does not mean to say that the 16oz. can is also gluten-free. different size cans are made...
  13. Thanks Kaiti, O.K. So it's not good for you. Than what do you recommend for gravies and soups . I don't always have time to boil -up some soup bones. For instance today I made a pot roast, mashed potatoes( we grow our own) and we live near a farm so we are lucky to have fresh corn. But I ate the pot roast dry tonight because I was afraid to add spices...
  14. Hello All, I know you old time "posters" probably have heard this question a lot already. But while I am waiting for the Campells Company to mail me their list of gluten-free foods (some are chilli , beef broth and chunky soups) I am confused about the monosodium glutamate. Is it O.K.?????? Warm Reguards, Annie
  15. Hello, Thanks for this info. Michelle. I'm gratefull to have found out that I have gluten intolerancae and I am only sad that I did not look for an answer sooner. It only took a mention at my colonoscopy visit and my Dr. was testing me. But I know that even though I have improved in a lot of ways there is still something else going on. My improvements...
  16. Hi, Thanks for the input!! I hope people reply to this topic. I intend to print out the page and keep it as a reference. This way when I go shopping it will quicken my day. Right now it takes me a long time to shop reading all the labels. It gets costlly too when you have to throw away something that you missed reading. I know that products...
  17. Hello , I while back I posted that I was having trouble with bowel movements again and didn't know why. The first three weeks into being gluten-free for the first time in my adult life that I can remember I went to the bathroom "normal". Then all of a sudden back to many small, constipated, floating, bowel. So what was up with that???What was I doing wrong...

  19. Hello to all, Wow! Thanks so much for the great ideas!!!!! My son and I reallly appreciate it. I have not tried any of mona's products, I live in a real rural area and they are not available to me. However I did email her comp. and she responded the very next day. I never even heard of Chebe but that's what's great about these forums. I definately...

  21. Great Replies!! Thanks for the reality check. How ironic life can be somtimes. My older daughter is 30 middle son 18 and "the baby" 12. And yes they are all from the same dad!!! I had trouble carring babies my 12 yr. old put me in the hospital .Now I wonder if that had anything to do with gluten?? That is in the past however just gives me a moment to pause...
  22. Hello. I also had problems with my teeth my whole life. If you can believe this one I actually had two baby teeth until I was 25 yrs. old. The permanants never grew!. They stayed in until the dentist had to remove the molars behind them. As a result on that extraction my "baby" teeth no longer had support,so instead of only loosing 2 teeth that day I wound...
  23. Hi R. My son is 12 yrs. old and was just dx. with gluten intolerance from the pediatrican, we are awaiting an appt. from the GI doctor. However,I had been on regular visits complained about my sons headaches and stomach problems. he was also dx. in 2000 with stomach migranes and given two meds. to deal with it. Now I think it was the gluten all along....
  24. Thanks everyone!!! What great info. you all provide in a friendly atmosphere. Sometimes it can be very intimidating in the Doctors office. You want to ask a lot of questions, but you don't want to appear stupid or have him sense that you are actually looking for something to be wrong. It is not that I want something to be wrong I simply want to feel better...
  25. Good evening To keep my little guy from being a bread thief I need to learn how to make some breads. I was dx. 2 months ago and my 12 yr. old was dx. yesterday. So how do you make a gluten-free hotdog roll??? When he starts school in Sept. again I need to be able to make his sandwiches. Thanks so very much for this site and the kind...
