  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Trader Joes has the best gluten free frozen pancakes I have tasted yet. I like their brown rice tortilla, but tends to be pretty dry-like to roll them up with meet, cheese, veggies. The tortillas go bad by their expiration date-can get "fuzzy" fast. Their chocolate cake is good too.
  3. what is Apple Belly celiac disease? Saw it referenced in an article and wondered what it was.
  4. Just been advised that I have osteopenia, just about 10 points off full osteoporosis. Considering some of the medications used to rebuild bone. Most have GI or esophagus irritation type symptoms. Have any of you been on them, and which was tolerated best? Thanks for any input, Sue
  5. lots of things could contribute to the s/s you are having. first let your MD know as you may need to have your thyroid checked. Additional food allergies are possible, with a histamin rise. as well as possible vagal nerve intervention. good luck

At a recent conference on celiac disease I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Peter H. R. Green. He is the director of the celiac disease center at columbia uniiversity. His book "Celiac Disease, a Hidden Epidemic" is packed full of info. I recommend it highly. Also I remember our local Kaiser, in Stockton, had a strong celiac support group, at one time....
  7. finally got ahold of company that manufactured product. ( I answered my own question!) The product is gluten free, however it is manufactured on a non dedicated line and may be contaminated with gluten from non related items on same line. They do clean line between products but cross contamination could occur.

  9. I use Mocha Mix, liquid, and wondered if it is gluten free. I have attempted to reach the company, but was unsucessful. Thanks Sue
  10. Boy where do I begin? A positive RA factor along with symptoms warrents tx to prevent damage to the joints. Once the damage is done, short of sx, the joints are damaged forever. Short blasts of steroids have been used for tx of the inflammatory bowel symptoms and can be quite helpful. Long term use is a concern as you can become steroid dependent, end...
  11. celiac3270 pls send copy of Resturant list to me also. Susantg3@comcast.net Thanks Sue
  12. sometimes when the gut is inflammed, you may need an antispamodic, which is a prescription. Levbid, donnatol-sp?, are examples. they relax the gut. also simethacone (like gas x) may help reduce bloating by moving gas out. I tolerate motrin and find it helps with pain as pain increases production of prostoglandins, which is the hormone that causes pain...
  13. dx with celiac disease/DH since 1974, positive bx, recently converted from positive blood test to negative.
  14. Anerissara you wrote about making, or attempting, crepes. I have a wonderful receipe. using corn starch. I use it to make cheese blintzes-which is a major treat. Crepes= 8 eggs, 1 tsp baking soda, 3 cups cold milk, 2 cups cornstarch, and 6 tablespoons butter (melted) beat eggs with fork, Add cornstarch gradually, add baking soda, add milk gradually...
