There are very few places I can eat (even when they say gluten free) but this one works for me! Oh those wonderful waffle fries! And I love the grilled nuggets with chickfila sauce. YUM!

This past weekend I decided to travel home to Indiana to attend my family reunion. I almost didn't go because I'm still struggling with not feeling well. Also, my family can really cook. I knew I would face every good food imaginable. But the desire to see family won so I packed my car with a cooler and a suitcase full of food and headed out on an 8 hour...

ARCHIVED 12 Weeks Gluten FreeRanne10 replied to Ranne10's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease My husband (God bless him) is eating gluten free with me so cooking will be simpler and to understand better what I'm experiencing. We have been discussing a while food or paleo diet to see if that would help my symptoms calm down. Is there a book or particular plan that has been helpful? I'm not sure what I can eat since all dairy is out?

ARCHIVED 12 Weeks Gluten FreeRanne10 replied to Ranne10's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Thank you all for your responses. I am on vitamin b12 injections and sublingual D. Several other nutrients were low but not deficient but i think i still need to add them. I followed advise here and have been taking digestive enzymes the last couple of days. They do seem to help some. Have been on probiotics for a while now. I ate a piece of an organic...

I am having days here and there where I feel better but more days that I don't. I am not one to cry but yesterday I sobbed in discouragement - questioning if this is the right thing. I read your success stories and how long it took and I cried again this morning. This time in hope. I love Celiac...

I've been considering trying a high protien diet just to see if eliminating carbs would calm my stomach down. Reading labels for gluten, dairy and corn is difficult .

I know some members are very good at doing this so hopefully someone can shed some light. Thank you! HLA-DQB1 0601 HLA-DQB1 0604 HLA-DQA1 01 HLA-DQA1...

ARCHIVED Medications & GlutenRanne10 replied to Ranne10's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications Hi, Thank you for your responses. The med is the generic form of Fioricet. Both the manufacturer of the generic and brand name would not guarantee gluten free.

ARCHIVED Hla Type... I'm ConfulsedRanne10 replied to idliketoknow's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms How do you get the 2.2? This is very foreign to me. I was negative for Dq2 & Dq8 but my other results are: DQB1 0601 DQB1 0604 DQA1 01 DQA1 - There were no test for DQ7. Can someone help with decipering this? Thank you! You are all wonderful by the way. This site has been a resource and salvation to me over the last two months...

ARCHIVED Does Anyone Have Problems With Low AntibodiesRanne10 posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease My doctor just called to inform me that more test results came back. It appears I have almost no antibodies to Pneumonia or meningitis? Is anything working? Tomorrow I have to get the adrenal stimulation test because my adrenal levels are critically low. It seems every week something else isn't working. I'm deficient in some vitamins and very low in others...

ARCHIVED Can You Explain This One?Ranne10 replied to Pisqualie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease I recently read that many European countries no longer allow the use of genetically modified wheat. America and Canada have run amuk with it. My doctor said the GMO's are so unkind to the digestive system that gluten sensitivity is drastically on the rise here. Might explain why you weren't as ill during your travels.

ARCHIVED Headaches In Celiac PatientsRanne10 replied to jebus's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease I've had migraines for 20 years 3-5 times per week. I've been on numerous meds to control them but nothing worked long. I carry Shots with me in case it gets bad at work. I started my gluten free journey 6 weeks ago and I've had 3 migraines in that time. Thing is I can point to accidental gluten ingestion each of those times. Although its challenging...

ARCHIVED Help! What Am I Doing Wrong?Ranne10 posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease I've been on the diet for 5.5 weeks now. I saw results almost immediately - not perfect but I could tell it was working. I actually started to believ that I could feel good again. But tonight I am sitting here feeling like crying my heart out. This week I went out for lunch a couple of times. I've been trying to avoid it but work was demanding and...

ARCHIVED Desperate!Ranne10 replied to Ranne10's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms Hi Gonnabe! I feel like a person who was going down for the last time and someone just threw me an unexpected life saver. I still have 'bad' days when I don't know what I've done wrong (from what I understand that can happen for some time.) But overall I am thrilled that this is working. I considered eating gluten again, my husband wanted me to...

ARCHIVED Desperate!Ranne10 replied to Ranne10's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms Thank you all! This site is such a blessing. After four weeks gluten free I am feeling so much better. I feel like each new day I'm free of it the more I feel human again. Six weeks ago I told my husband I thought I was dying. Today - I feel like living again. I have had a couple of set-backs and those were discouraging. One day I thought I was 100% on my...

ARCHIVED Medications & GlutenRanne10 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications I've been on the gluten free diet for almost 3.5 weeks. I've done really well but got hit pretty hard with a prescription pill that I took without thinking about. I had a major set-back for 3 days (migraine, cramps, etc.) I found out that pill had gluten the hard way so I'm trying to be very careful.I have another prescription I take that I'm not sure whether...

ARCHIVED Desperate!Ranne10 replied to Ranne10's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms It was the S. Ceravisliae AB (ASCA) IGG. It was positive but the doctor said it probably wasn't significant because my Tissue Transglutaminase IGA was only 2 and the biopsy from a few years ago was negative. Which is the total IGA? Is the Serum or the Transglutaminase? They want to do a video capsule test in 4 weeks. By that time I'll be 6 weeks on...

ARCHIVED Am I Celiac Or Just Gluten Intolerance?Ranne10 replied to Jess and Drez's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms Doctors are not infallable. 7 years ago I started having pressure in my head and right ear. My doctor said it was allergies and ear infection. For one year she continued to treat me for that without listening to my symptoms. Finally, after starting to lose my balance and fall down I went on an internet search for my symptoms. What I found was an acoustic...
