  1. Since you figured it out, can you help me???!!!!
  2. Hi Chill, He did a lower (colon)and upper (gastro). Thanks for your advice. And I think you're right. I heard that they should take at least 5... I was just confused as to whether I actually have gut symptoms, or purely just skin related... Squirming's links have helped me to realise that the gut is still involved for DH patients. Thanks again :-)
  3. Squirming, this is awesome. Thank you so much for all the time you have put into this.
  4. Oh man. have followed this whole thread with interest. My GP (equivalent to a PCP I think,) and my GI have said I needed an intestinal biospsy for celiac confirmation, despite a +ve skin biopsy. I was happy enough with a skin biopsy, but had to have a colonoscopy for strong family Hx of bowel cancer, so decided to have both done at the same time before I...
  5. I also get (currently have!) DH on my palms and soles, so yes it is possible. The history and risk factors are strong, although if they are clearing with lotion and it really is DH, I'd love to know what that lotion is! I'm in a different camp when it comes to Dx. I believe that you should try to get a Dx. It has helped me tremendously not to second guess...
  6. Just to add another voice, I have had a positive dh result from a skin biopsy recently. I know there are different opinions out there about whether a confirmed dx is necessary, but for me it has been very helpful. As long as your derm takes a punch from clean skin beside a lesion and not actually on one (although my derm took both and I had to 'remind' him...
  7. Thank you all for you input. It really is much more helpful than medical sites and doctors! eatmeat4good- I was interested to hear about your fatigue and bloodshot eyes...The eye thing I definitely tried to find online but couldn't find out if I could attribute it to dapsone. I'm about a week on, and I feel like the adverse things are settling, but not noticing...
  8. Thank you squirmingitch! This is really helpful. The dapsone part too. I'm on day 4 of dapsone. Fatigue, and my face feels really weird! like it's hot or something. But I never thought about the masking symptoms aspect. Can you tell me, when you were diagnosed, did you just do the gluten-free diet and no dapsone? I was under the impression that dapsone (in...
  9. Hi all, I have been dx by skin biopsy this week with DH. My GP is saying I still need to have the endoscopy for intestinal diagnosis and I'm having trouble understanding why. Whether it is poitive or negative, my treatment plan still remains dapsone and gluten-free diet. Do I require an intestinal biopsy to have a 100% conclusive celiac disease dx...
  10. Hi friends. Just wanted to introduce myself as a newly diagnosed coeliac. I have been reading the forums for weeks while I was treated for scabies (sure that it wasn't scabies), and am so thankful for all the help I received just from you all being open. It gave me the knowledge and confidence to keep pressing on despite the initial scabies diagnosis ('no...
