    ARCHIVED Kidney Pain

Thank you all for your comments and opinions, much appreciated
  3. Hello I'm going through a gluten accident with lots of symptoms, pain being the worst. I am finding that supplements (an allergyfriendly multivitamin/mineral and anti-yeast supplements) are causing me the same pain as the original gluten pain. Does anyone else feel that certain food or supplements hurt or cause digestive issues when you have been glutened...

    ARCHIVED Kidney Pain

Thank you so much to both of you for answering. I did a selftest bought at the pharmacy and it showed protein and blood in my urine. I have previously been checked for infection which was negative so the doctor doesn't know what the cause is. So I thought perhaps it is caused by gluten accidents.

    ARCHIVED Kidney Pain

Hi When I accidentally eat gluten, I first get intense burning pain in the stomach area, but then my kidneys start to hurt bad also. To me this is weird. Could the pain and inflammation from the small intestine spread to the kidneys? Has anyone else experienced this?
  6. Hello I recently received the VSL#3 unflavoured kind which I ordered from the UK. And was disappointed to see that it had a warning on both the box and individual sachets which I hadn't noticed when I placed the order: 'Warning: this product contains traces of gluten, soy, lactose and skimmed dehydrated milk.' They have basically put traces of ALL the...
  7. I've tried for several days now to unsubscribe from the message board and celiac.com on a whole......with no success!!! Scott told me very briefly what to do, when this didn't work, he just repeated himself. Easy to register, but no way out again..........
  8. Hi All! I can't seem to find an option for unsubscription..... Thanx, Misa

Hi all! I'm doing really well. I still follow the main SCD outlines, but have the occasional starches such as rice and gluten-free bread. What really allows me to eat starches without problems is the amount. Previously I'd eat large portions of anything really, including starches. Now I've reduced every meal and have 4 small ones instead of 3 large ones...

Hi Connielynn38 Having problems with what one would assume is innocent rice, is what led me to try the SCD. I knew something was wrong when I couldn't even have plain rice without feeling bloated and gassy! Now I can eat potatoes and rice about twice a week with no problems whatsoever The rest of the time I stick to SCD guidlines (don't wanto push...

    ARCHIVED Endometriosis

I had endometrioses about four years ago. The surgeon told me it was the worst case she had ever operated on She also said it would return if I didn't start with strong hormones. I knew I wasn't going to start messing my system further with artificial hormones, so I did research on natural cures. I don't normally recommend books, but this is like a bible...

Hiya Brenda.....and Welcome Is it ok if I ask how long you stayed on the SCD previously. I'm just thinking if you stayed on the SCD (with your modifications of course) for a little while, maybe you soon could tolerate more and more food. Boy, I never thought I could eat cheese and nuts (yikes!) so soon, but it happened. I really hope you see results...

Hi Matilda Yeah, it's funny how pleased you can get from having something as normal BM's The time spent on cooking is really up to you. I don't like cooking at all, but therefore I eat bland (boring) food. Again, it's kind of what you make out of it. So happy you're trying the SCD! It would be great if you updated for all to see how you're...

    ARCHIVED Norway

Hi Lisa Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but glutenfree in Norway is the same as eating wheat starch . There are no breads, neither in the grocery store, cafes or health stores made with alternative grains. We do have glutenfree rice-crackers in the grocery store and the healthfood stores have (very) sweet biscuits made with maize. People in...

PreOptMegs: Hope you still haven't noticed any ill-effects. (Was it the M & M with a peanut centre?) If it makes you feel a bit better, then a health guru where I live says that M & M's don't have a high sugar content compared to all other sweets. This is because of the peanut. He actually says this is a preferred snack.... Take care, Misa

Just read Heathers post, and I echo her with not sticking 100% to SCD. I don't stray far from the general rules, but occasionally eat raw fruit, taco seasoning, and sauces containing tomatoe puree. It doesn't cause me any probs, and mentally it then doesn't feel so incredibly strict. I still get positive results on a whole. Misa

Hi Lisa I know how you feel. I noticed some improvement while gluten-free, but knew something was still very wrong when my digestive symptoms continued. Also, the gluten-free flours were causing havoc with my blood sugar. I was fortunate enough to feel relief very fast with the SCD. A normal day: Breakfast: Salad with tomatoes, fresh basil...
  19. Hiya Robin I live in Scandinavia, have been ordering my enzymes from a company in the UK. I just recently switched to a US company as I wanted higher amounts per capsule. I chose Houston Nutraceuticals because apparently they are big within the autistic community. The parents often use enzymes as part of therapy. I'm still using up the old batch so haven...
  20. Hi there Kate. Boy, can life be really tough sometimes, and usually all the bad things seem to happen at once. I hope you will soon be over the worst and can enjoy life again. Some of us were still reacting negatively to the gluten-free grains and have started a diet called the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. If interested you can check out the posts in...
  21. Blimey, Mark, you've got a lot of things going on....Because you've got malabsorption probs. I've just gotto recommend supplementing with broad spectrum digestive enzymes. I notice a big difference if I'm taking them or not. They usually contain lipase which breaks down fat, thus preventing it from accumulating in the liver and elsewhere. Also contain protease...
  22. Yes, I react also to the skins of especially apples. Maybe it's just too tough to digest and irritates the digestive lining??? I've also started to lightly cook all fruits, breaking down some of the fibre and sugar. Notice I don't bloat from fruit this way. Misa
  23. It's been previously mentioned here, applesmight be sprayed with a liquid containing gluten. I wrote that I had contacted a major exporting/importing apple company asking if this really is the case. Here's the answer: My e-mail: Hello, I'm a member of a Celiac Disease discussion forum for gluten (wheat, barley, rye and oat grains) intolerant people...
  24. Hi Mary Jane I used to take very small doses of L-glutamine, but stopped when I read on the internet it's a potential neurotoxin. However, reading your post was a reminder to perhaps start supplementing with it again. It really could be essential to villi healing. Found an informative link yesterday while doing some more research: Open Original Shared...

Read somewhere that "regular" bottle mustard is fine on the SCD.I don't know what regular is. Maybe you have multiple choices in the US, over here we only have one kind I use it with my chicken dinners and it seem to agree. To those of you who haven't made the yoghurt yet; have any of you started with the acidophilus probiotic supplement yet, are...
