  1. Hiya Rachel I'm pretty new too (it's week 7 now I think). Just wanted to say the label thing does get easier. This website has ok and forbidden food lists: https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid...-52105426433.be I did print-outs and take them with me when grocery shopping. I also felt ill both mentally and physically during the first few...
  2. Checked out our Norwegian celiac forum and someone posted that her dietician informed her that some apples are sprayed with a liquid containing gluten and she should peel apples instead of just washing them. Another member replies that the deep green Granny Smith apples....the ones which are so shiny and nice...almost fake looking, are sprayed with the gluten...
  3. Hi GLUTENFREE PRODUCT LIST: 1. Click on this link: Open Original Shared Link 2. Click on "Messages" on the blue line. 3. Select folder: "gluten-free product list" on the first purple line, left side. 4. Click on topic: "Downloadable Files Word". 5. Scroll down on right hand side to four options and choose the one in the upper...
  4. Hi Susan Since you're an advanced member you've probably checked the gluten-free product list link which has been posted about on this forum. But I saw gluten-free make-up line listings. From my notes from the list I see I've written that all Chanel lipsticks except Lipcareline are gluten-free. Max Factor: all lipsticks gluten-free except for Lip Silks...
  5. I get the same symptoms as Michelle. They make me nervous which is the complete opposite of what they're supposed to do . I've put it down to the B12. If your body (and brain) has high heavy metal levels, B12 methyls them.....changes the metals into aggressive neurotoxins....creating unfavourable mental symptoms...yikes! Don't get any stomach pain...
  6. Bronchitis was actually the reason I started to investigate celiac disease I got really bad coughing spells everytime I ate gluten grains. It took a while for me to see the connection, but one day after yet another coughing attack I suddenly said to a friend; Iget this everytime I eat bread. Saying it out loud made me think of course and just after the...
  7. I'm currently treating (peppermint oil, malic acid and magnesium) suspected gallstones, get a tight, painful feeling after eating fatty meals, and while doing research stumbled across the reasons for developing stones (high cholesterol, liver congestion, calcification), but also that food allergies could contribute........So I guess going with an untreated...
  8. This is an interesting topic. Celiacs do come in all shapes and sizes..... I'm 173 cm, I think that's 5'9. Looking back, have had celiac disease symptoms all my life. My sister is exactly the same height, and both my brother and father are tall people. But I was always the very slim one, even though I ate HUGE amounts of food all day long. Misa
  9. When I recently found out that gluten was the answer to many health problems, I was very happy. Being sick of feeling ill and constantly wanting/striving to get out there and live a normal healthy life meant that this is extactly what I was doing as soon as I started treating the celiac disease with diet and supplements. Happy to avoid gluten and that was...
  10. Hiya Dave I'm new to this too.....Five weeks now and already feeling so much better alround. But....the first three weeks were difficult. The fatigue, muscle pain, headache and bloating got worse. And I also became very aggressive (which isn't part of my personality at all) and have had to do some humble apologizing now that I'm cool, calm and collected...
  11. So you wouldn't touch wheat starch even if the strict guidelines applied to the US....Hmm, this has got me thinking that I should perhaps stick with the rice crackers and buckwheat.....Best to be safe than sorry....Thanks for responding Misa
  12. Interesting to read all the mixes.......I'm 1/2 Norwegian and 1/2 English. 32 years old, natural dark brown hair, blue eyes and medium coloured skin tone. Although celiac disease is supposed to be high in Norway, I never hear about it and only know of a friend of a friend with celiac disease throughout my life. gluten-free food labeling on ordinary...
  13. Hi Steve I used to take alot of enzymes pre-glutenfree and this was ok. But since going gluten-free and now having a healthier colon which can "tell me" when I'm doing something wrong, I'm actually feeling a touch of colon pain with the supplements so now I only take one with a high protein meal. I did some research and remembered I came across this...
  14. Hiya Did a print out of the food list on this site and noticed that wheat starch is not accepted as safe in the US and Canada! Over here in Scandinavia the health food stores and many supermarkeds stock products labelled glutenfree (rolls, bread, vaffles, pizza crusts, pancakes) which all are made of wheat starch. And it is totally accepted for celiac...
  15. Hi John I'm a newbie to celiac disease and what you've gone through is exactly like me.....trying all sorts of diets and theories. Even though I did tons of research on my diarrhea and other symptoms, I never thought of celiac disease. I'm 32 and my health probs started at 22 during a pretty stressful time. It was all very gradual.... On the gluten...
  16. I'm single and facing the same issue as you. Going gluten-free has given me alot more energy and I'm finally taking an interest in guys again and of course thinking of how to approach the gluten subject while dating. I figure my attitude towards the disease will have a direct affect on how others react (ok, some people just are who they are ). If...
  17. Wow, so many answers, THANX It's 04.22 o'clock at night over here and I woke up with a sweat and runny, itchy eyes. Two other gluten related symptoms gone on the gluten-free diet and thought I'd check the board. Thank you Michelle, Mariann, Kaiti and Nini....... I just assumed that it was the colon area which was sensitive to gluten, but getting reactions...
  18. Hi everyone I'm Misa, 32 years old and live in Scandinavia. I've been doing a gluten-free diet for over a month now after self-diagnosing and I'm now convinced I'm on the right track. Chronic diarrhea, dizziness, digestive pains and cramps, candida, nausea and extremely low energy have already improved tremendously. My panick attacks have gone and general...
