ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
Rachel--24 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I definately think her antibodies might increase after the round of antibiotics. *Something* is causing her symptoms and this would be the most likely culprit. I actually hope it comes out positive too....so that you can address it now and hopefully she can overcome some of the challenges she's been faced with. -

Sheeesh its almost been a year since I got tested. The year went by fast!! Donna...sorry for sending you on a wild goose chase but at least you got some good laughs out of it. I guess I was thinking October since thats when I saw Dr. S. for the follow up and thats when we went over the results and I found out my IFA was very positive. He... -

Oh...to add to my previous post. Even though the IND does not indicate a weak positive it also is not a negative. The Igenix report will say that the presence of an IND on a double starred band (34 is double starred) in a negative report *may* indicate clinical significance. The recommendation is to test using another method and/or retesting the... -

Yeah....some people say that when there is an IND...it means that there was *something* there.....that its not negative so it must be a "tiny" bit positive. When I was at IgeniX and sat down with Dr. Harris to go over all my test resuts.....I asked him about this because I have 2 IND's. Both of my IND's are on double starred bands (highly specific... -

Donna....they really can flucuate. Think about gluten...when there is exposure you get antibodies...then they diminsh with no gluten in the diet. Lyme changes form....goes in and out of hiding...there are constant changes in the body. For menstruating women Lyme tests are more accurrate at the time of menses. Lots of factors to consider. Most definately... -

Carla...I dont see a positive Lyme specific band. The 34 is Lyme specific but hers is indeterminate. -

Carla...I'm thinking a 30 day round of antibiotics might change the results of the test and its entirely possible more positives will show up. I agree that a trial of antibiotics should be helpful in figuring out if Lymes a problem for her. I'm curious as to which band they are calling "Lyme specific"?? I had all those same bands...plus a couple... -

Anna has me on a few different homeopathics. One for allergies, one for liver detox, one for lymphatic drainage....I'm also taking a Detoxosode (not for bacteria though....mine is for fungi and yeasts). The new one thats she's excited about is for molds...this is the one she had me start on last night. I'm sure you could ask her about this one...she... -
yup....I payed $95 for both tests. My insurance payed 50%

Chrissy, I dont think you're grasping at straws with this. I've read that *anyone* having unexplained or bizarre symptoms should be tested for Lyme. As Bev posted....Lyme is known as the "great imitator"....it can mimick nearly all diseases. I would definately pursue testing....not just for you but all symptomatic family members. Hopefully the next...

Donna...I'm noticing more and more posts on LymeNET about LED. Probably more awareness after Dr. Cowden just had a seminar a few weeks back. I know Scott and Dr. Amy were there....unfortunately Anna didnt go to this one. I didnt really learn anything new from the Explorer article....its basically everything I've read previously put into one article... -

I dont think Dr. Amy goes to Colorado. If you're gonna go ahead and get it done I would do a little research and see who's the most qualified in your area. Like Dr. Amy said....anyone can take classes and learn these types of tests (we werent talking about ART but something similar) but it doesnt mean they have alot of experience or can really give you the... -

Most people with soy allergy (or intolerance) have no problems with soy lecithin. -

I saw Anna tonight. I havent been for an appt. with her in like 5 weeks!! She says I've been on her mind alot cuz she went up to Canada for some training (I think she has another clinic over there too) and they discussed new treatments for yeast and fungal issues. She said I'm always the first one she thinks of when fungal issues come up....I... -

Yeah...Dr. Hesse-Sheehan is working with Amy at the clinic. I dont know anything about her but I *may* end up meeting her in the future. Amy talked about possibly getting me over to the clinic to see her partner but thats all still up in the air. We're trying to figure out some other stuff first.....mostly about LED. I'll explain all that in my email... -

Andrea...you are such a sweetie. Its not too easy to get in to see Klinghardt. I'm thinking months to year long waiting list?? He's always traveling and doing stuff....conferences, teaching Art, Autism workshops....he's all over the place and lots of people want to see him. I read on an Autism site where the mother of a child was saying this... -

Nope....it was Hal Huggins. I would have remembered Klinghardt. Found it... Klinghardt does recommend high protein diet in his detoxification protocol. -

Rinne....for mercury detox you need to eat high protein as well. One Dr. (and I forget which one right now) had said that he was never able to successfully detox someone who was vegetarian. They just dont get better on that diet because you need the protein to detox. I suppose a vegetarian diet could also cause you to retain more toxins....even if you... -

I think my Dr. might just kick me out of his office if I was still consuming alcohol of caffeine. I dont think he would even wanna bother with me. He was frusterated enough about the ice cream ...if I was drinking alcohol I think he would just flat out tell me I'm not gonna get better. -

Jin, It wasnt me. I know I've posted about a million different things in this thread but never anything about a Lyme Diet. Dont know nothing about a Lyme diet except that people with Lyme (or any chronic illness) should eat as healthy as possible to strengthen their immune system. My Dr. says no sugar, wheat or dairy. Obviously its... -

Yeah...I've posted about it lots of times here. I continued to have loose stools and weight loss until I stopped taking my supplements. It was only then that I made alot of improvement. It was most likely the vitamins were having a negative effect on you. Digestive enzymes also cause problems for me. B-vitamins fuel candida infections.....thats one... -

I actually didnt get to sit in the space ship last night. The reason is this.... So yeah....I decided I did not want to sit in the sauna and rachel the fumes. It didnt smell too bad but I'm gonna follow the directions and run it about 3 or 4 more cycles before trying it out. I did run it last night and it got really hot inside....
