    My gastro doc was unwilling to diagnose me as Celiac. My blood work was negative (he only did the transglutamnase IgA AB) and my biopsy was "indeterminate."     My ITP was officially diagnosed at 14, but I probably had it much longer than that. At 6 years old I had a tooth pulled and the dentist called my mom in a panic because my mother didn't tell him I was a "bleeder." Apparently the area bled for half an hour or something.     Hi nvsmom, I too had ITP as a teen. I couldn't keep my platelets above 12, 000 without large doses of prednisone. I finally had to beg to have my spleen removed.     ITP has nothing to do with dermatology. It is a blood disorder. You need to be followed by a hematologist or internist. That's, of course, assuming you have ITP and low platelets. Good luck.

    By tiny hemorrhages, do you mean petechiae? If it's petechiae you need to get your platelets checked. You might have another (non genetic) autoimmune disease called ITP. ITP would mean you have low platelets, which clot the blood. The spleen sends out antibodies that attack your platelets, destroying them. I had a chronic form of this disease as a teenager...

    Hi Gemme, Is your uric acid going up or is the elevated number from a umma (urine methymalonic acid) test? If it's uric acid I have no answer for you. Sorry.
