  1. I think everyone has made some equally good points both for and against the dining out issue. The main thing to remember for all of us, ESPECIALLY newbies, is that NO RESTAURANT excluding those that are dedicted gluten-free can claim and guarantee to have gluten-free menus or gluten-free items to offer their celiac clients.     First off I'll say happy anniversary!!! Next, I'm going to say this, because like I've said before...I wish someone would have said this to me just after I was first diagnosed....I would not eat out, period so soon after being diagnosed. I know you've only been diagnosed for a month and you're just beginning the healing process so getting glutenized...
  3. I find this all very interesting. I, myelf as a baby was a whole month late and was very sickly. I know now that I had celiac disease but it went undiagnosed my whole life. I have 4 children and had terrible hyperemisis (severe vomiting) for the full nine months of pregnancy with the first 3 of them. I was hospitalized with each one and each time...
  4. I absolutely agree with everyone here...your stepson should be ashamed of how you were treated!!! Like others have said, I don't ask if I can bring my own food...I tell people I am bringing my own food and if they insist otherwise I give it to them straight-either I bring my own food and stay healthy or I eat theirs and in 10 minutes they get to watch...

  6. I just want to know if there are any other celiac's in this world who don't eat out ANYWHERE no matter what? I have such extreme reactions that I literally believe that I am going to die everytime it happens so I will NEVER EVER AGAIN eat anywhere other than my home and a home of a close friend who is probably more careful than me when it comes to preparing...
