    How long would I have to be gluten free before I could "challenge" it? I know you are supposed to do a minimum of 3 months but if I did gluten free for one month and then ate gluten would that be enough time out of my system to make me feel like garbage if I am gluten intolerant?     My husband picked up a copy of the results and it is definitely negative. A positive is greater than 20 and mine was 6. I am actually disappointed.     I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and one of the symptoms is a difficulty with anesthetic. It basically takes WAY more to even have an effect on me. So I am doubtful that it would even work. I still haven't decided what to do.

    Is it necessary to have different cooking equipment if you are just gluten intolerant and not celiac? My test results aren't back yet but if it turns out it is not celiac I am wondering how strict I need to be with the gluten-free.

    Sadly, I think I am going to have to cancel the procedures. I do want to have the biopsy (if I could have even gotten him to order it) but I am an abuse survivor and I have been up panicking all night. Unless they can put me under complete general anesthesia I can't do it. I know they do "conscious sedation" but I have had it before for a different procedure...

    How can I make the dr order the biopsy? I am in Ontario so it is paid for by OHIP and I am worried the dr will say that they don't need to do a biopsy. I am not going under a procedure with risks if they aren't going to do the biopsy so I am trying to figure out how to get my dr to order it.

    Thanks for responding. I have decided to avoid gluten for the rest of today at least in the hopes I might get some sleep tonight. Tomorrow is back to all my responsibilities - no more laying in bed all day! I still feel terrible. I hope the test results come back soon and that if I do have celiac I am one of the people who the tTG is accurate.

    Well I do have that issue but that was not the reason for the tummy tuck.     I am in Ontario. No celiac testing is covered. I had to pay $65 just for the tTG test. He didn't offer any other tests, just said that is the only one needed. He is a bit of an ass at the best of times. Hopefully if I do have celiac it will show up positive.

    He won't order any other tests. I had to convince him to order the one test. He was completely dismissive of me and told it was migraines (which I've never had) causing my symptoms and prescribed a migraine med (which didn't help at all). I feel so defeated right now. I am just so sick.

    My dr has ordered the tTG test but that is the only celiac test he ordered. He also ordered fasting blood glucose, ferritin, CBC, Vitamin B12, TSH, creatinine, sodium, and potassium. Most people seem to get a full panel of celiac blood tests. Will only one celiac test show an accurate result?
