  1. I think it's safe to say now we have a war on guns. There are too many guns in too many hands these days. To hold a gun is to hold a life in your hands. And I don't want some psychopath with that responsibility.

  2. I was diagnosed by an Allergist who did blood work on me. My Iga level was 138.09/20, which I have asked out here and have heard that is pretty high. From here on, I've just been eating Gluten-free but still feel absolutely terrible. Something is still wrong and I have seen worthless doctors, which is eating up a lot of time and money. I definitely...
  3. I've been researching Celiac Disease like mad and I am still, admittedly, confused by some of what is said about this illness. This recent video and petition discusses the confusion about Celiac Disease (video below). And by the way, I've been treated this way countless times by doctors, Open Original Shared Link I also saw my GI doctor for the first time...
  4. Hello again everyone. I am going into my first GI Doctor. I was diagnosed with Celiac by my Allergist. Well, I am wanting to go in prepared and to really make sure all tests are done quickly - the reason being I am seeing a Pain Management Doctor, a Cardivascular Doctor, a Neuromuscular Dentist, and of course the GI Doctor. These appointments eat...
  5. Thank you. I'll definitely look into it.

  9. Okay. I had a feeling. This is such a pain in the butt because of my chronic pain and the meds I take because of it. I'll have to call. I just picked up a new medication that actually has the warning on it: May contain Soy or Peanuts. This is the first time I've ever seen an allergy warning on a medication. So is Soy a problem in my Vitamin D prescription...
  10. So I have briefly heard about medications containing Gluten and was wondering how true this is? I am on medications for severe chronic head pain and needed to know if this could be making me feel worse. Thanks.
  11. Thank you all for the excellent ideas!
  12. 14 years in and I am absolutely sick of being sick. Chronic pain is like a freaking prison. And now there's Celiac Disease, which is insanely expensive. There's still just so much to do these days. I spent 4 hours at one appointment to be referred to 3 new doctors. It's officially a damn nightmare.

  13. I have taken Probiotics in the past, even before I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. I was taking 15 billion organisms and when compared to my new dosage of 100 million I realize how well the 15 billion was working for me. I am realizing that I really need Probiotics, because they did seem to help. I think it was a Vitacost brand (been awhile). I was...
  14. @Laura, thanks for the explanation. That actually sounds about right. I really didn't understand it and the Allergist didn't tell me that it was NOT an allergy. Interestingly, I have had throat tightness before, which is why I've always considered it an allergy. My problems have been so widespread - from heart problems, memory loss, pain, etc - that I...
  15. Thank you for the reply. Personal care products, really? Do you mean toothpaste, etc? Do I have to worry about that too? I haven't ever seen Gluten on toothpaste and would the ingredients also be listed on ingredients/foods to avoid list?
  16. @everyone, Thank you all for the responses. I keep forgetting that it isn't an allergy. I've read about Celiac Disease, but I am still a little bit confused as to how it is classified as an autoimmune disorder. Can someone be kind enough to explain? In the meantime, I'll see if the newbie thread has any info about that (I don't think it does). Also...
  17. I really don't know much about my tests results except that they are "very high" as my Allergist put it. I also have some other tests results for foods, but he said I shouldn't worry about it (would like your opinion on that too) and focus on getting rid of Gluten. My Celiac Disease Panel, Adult w/ Rflx and IgA tTG Antibody was: 138.09/20. 20 or lower...
  18. Yeah, I am finding I am having a ton of trouble with milk products. So right now I am definitely dairy intolerant. I honestly had no idea. I just found out a bunch of products have milk in them and this is why I am feeling so terrible. I am glad that I am finding out so much in such a short time-frame from being diagnoses with Celiac. BTW, I did some...
  19. This is great news to here. Talk about a morale booster - lol
  20. Great meal tips. Will definitely use them for sure. I found some Gluten-free pancakes and the first batch, by following the instructions exactly, turned out way, way too dry. So I added double the eggs and water and it instantly reminded of good ol' pancakes! So that is good news. And then to sweeten the deal, there's always chocolate pancakes to...
  21. Thanks for all of the great replies. I've learned from recent experience that I definitely need to avoid milk. I had significant problems after drinking a glass - I thought milk was fine, of course, because Celiac.com recommended to drink it due to Vitamin D deficiency but all of your information helps out a ton. I'll keep on avoiding. But I will...
