  1. Oh Kareng! You really want me to go craazzzzzy in the gluttened way--wrap me tin foil and slather Vanicream on quick! Then send me out to the desert (It is right behind my house--not far to get me there ) and a quick death... So Kareng, I did have one more thing that came up--I went to my optometrist, who has said that I have *no*...
  2. Hi All! OK, I have been AWOL for a bit. Hectic new schedule, and my sis visiting until Friday! So, white potatos are a Nightshade??? I know I can't eat nightshades...Tried a Green Pepper...ugh White potato...ugh My family is beginning to think I am overreacting sometimes--but as we know--the symptoms are very obvious after awhile!...
  3. Oh, How I love when I Glut myself....At least that is what I think happened last night. Ugh I had chills, shivering, and dizzy-head. Nauseaus... (sp?) heart racing. Ich. This is not my usual reaction to Glut. One white potato. I doubted it at first, but, now I can only come up with that... Guess they are out. Then a leaky gut this am. ...
  4. We certainly think that we are *quite* humorous Squirmmy! Hmmmm, so the iodine diet has helped you with the rash, eh? Good news for you--but it is sooooooo hard to stay on! I am gluten-free--but adding the iodine free is difficult for me! I miss my eggs. I have tried eggbeaters...to me, kind of like egg whites with yellow... FPinDC I do love...
  5. Oh Shroomie! I have to admit I wondered the same thing...I am not sure I want to see stars when I am walking around, getting up, or sitting around! But it is either really interesting shrooms or an allergic reaction! If Squirmy said allergic, then I will accept that! (But you do kind of wonder where those mushrooms are coming from, eh?) ...
  6. Hi FP, The chanting did occur of course, however it was altered to uncomfortable moans of irritable digestive and rash issues! But the chanting does help--and of course, reminds me to avoid alcohol. Ok, the truth, That is how I feel about avoiding alcohol. I do enjoy a drink on the weekends! Oh, but do I enjoy the afteraffects??? no...
  7. Hi Squirmmy! No wines for me--not for many years--even before I had my "explosion of rash" and d.... Good to hear from you! How are you doing????
  8. Hi! Yes, I am taking it slow...........not positive about sweet potatos, but I am not adding again for a bit. My rash went a little crazy last night-had to load up on Benadryl, still itchy with lots of rashes today So, I will review my list of what I ate and go from there. I Must add: (now it sounds like confession time)...I did drink several drinks...
  9. Hi FP, Good to hear from you! I have eliminated milk, lactose, etc. I have always had trouble with it! I am still experimenting slowly with foods. The sweet potato was yummy, but I had some reactions--slight ones--so going slow with it! Still not sure about them Fruits are apparently out for me...The link you mentioned between pear and apple...
  10. Hi Gotta Ski! Dog gone it--I would have *loved to see another rant about drs, allergists, etc* I notice the new format here...I miss my emoticons!! Are they gone???? Or have I just not found them? Take care!
  11. Hi Squirmy and Celiac Mindwarp! I have two epi-pens and a practice one! I have practiced--and so has my hubby--I was told by my doc to use both pens 10 minutes apart--that way it is supposed to work faster! I thought my ranting session was adequate Squirmy--but yes, I am sure if I would have let loose I could have done much better--but I probably...
  12. Ugh!!!...OK. This has definitely become a Rant...So I saw my doctor, who was extremely interested in redoing blood tests to see if I was allergic to avocados and bananas...especially since I had an anaphylactic reaction to avocados! This seems extremely redundant. Which is a nice way of saying "stupid"...I will not be eating avocados whether the "blood...
  13. gluten-free Lover, My thoughts are with you more than you know...I too (and many others on this wonderful forum) have fears about eating. For me, I know that it took my hubby putting food in front of me for awhile to eat Sad but true. I still get "scared" to eat sometimes. You have alrady gotten some *great* advice--So I'll just share some...
  14. Hi FPinDC!!! LOL, for being a pain in the watusi, you are very helpful! I am going to try the yummy brittle-with carob. I am still having the rashes--see my Doc today because I am not sure he helps that much...I have gotten far more insight into what to eat and not eat here. Muffin (your cat) is *very* happy--I too swear they "know...
  15. Aaaagh! I have been doing well--until last night. I ate two apples on the same day--the only thing different for me. I had a major rash within an hour--GFin (or FP as I call him) is probably right about the cc reactions from being allergic to Ragweeds (all of them are high on my allergin reactions!) Apples and Pears and a variety of other foods that...
  16. Hey Squirmy, Snyder's is gluten-free & low iodine???? Amazing! I may go get some today! Yum! Thanks for the new info... By the way--did I read it right regarding staying on the low iodine for two weeks? Or am I making that up in my head? (Or "kidding myself--either way, sunglasses *on*!
  17. Hey Bartfull! How are you doing? Haven't heard from you in awhile! Better:) Same Worse or Ugh Or just fill me in on how you are lately! Last I heard, you were having a tough spell...
  18. Hi Squirmy! Great idea about the food processer and chicken or tuna! It is the "pate" she wants--which has no chunks of meat in it...And I just happen to have some extra chicken for my munching on in the house! I hope she loves it! The cc is always there--I do have to be careful, but even with her canned food I am! So, I will try it! How...
  19. Hi FP, So glad that Muffin got home! One month gone and back without one explanation!! Was she skinny? She sounds happy as a purring cat to be at home though, yes? It is true, my one cat at 23 is near ready to fly...As long as she is perky, it's good. But I won't let her starve to death...consequently, with the TLC she's happy! Although she...
  20. Hi FP! I do love the Fall! In Phoenix, the temperatures are cooling down and it is like a breath of fresh air! The brittle idea is a good one! I think it would be *wonderful* with the different variety of dried fruit and different seeds! I am still not thinking outside of the box all of the way when it comes to foods--I "heard Peanut brittle...
  21. Hi Celiac Mindwarp! After seeing the posts about pet food--I will probably look around! Problem is, I have a 23+ year old cat and a 22+ year old cat and they are not able to eat much food either! I have found one food that they can eat--so I have just been being careful about handling their food...My 9 year old cat is happy--she gets the "leftovers...
  22. Hi shadowicewolf! I can eat corn tortillas--and recently found that a homemade corn polenta works very well for me too. It has *lots* of nutrition and calories--which we need so badly, yes? So I just keep trying to make sure I have "leftovers" to eat...then I can pounce on them when I go into the "I am starving and will eat anything mode"...not good...
  23. Hi Bartfull! I think you are absolutely right when we need some time to whine a bit...then we pick ourselves up--and move forward! Thank goodness, we get to whine here where other people "get it". I personally *love* mellow jazz--that is often what I listen to when I am going to sleep. So, on a good day, play away! I teach Psychology...
  24. Hi Squirmy! Yes, I thought of the gluten in their food--so I wash my hands instantly after feeding them...may not be enough though. My rash is a bit better--but after eating 3 dates (I was famished)I had a couple of outbreaks. Guess what dates are high in? Iodine!Curses! I am still recuperating from my avocado adventure--Last night, after...
  25. Hi bartfull! Ugh. Pain can beat us down quick, eh? The postules sound miseraable. Especially hard when you find it difficult to play your guitar and banjo. Wish we had a way to record you to hear some of you tunes...(on a better day, of course)! I would bet the banjo is singing loud and fast when you on a high note of a day! I am sure you...
