  1. Thank you kareng for pointing out that article. I miss beer and do not really like any of the gluten-free beers that are currently available. I really wanted this process to work. I will look for other discussions to see if anyone has tried it and their reactions.
  2. Has anyone tried the gluten-free beer Omission? It is made like regular beer and the gluten is removed using a brewing enzyme called Brewers Extract. I've read all about it on their website and done some research. It doesn't sound like ALL the gluten is removed. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried it and how they felt after.
  3. I'm very confused about vodka. Is it gluten free or not? My sister was diagnosed with Celiac over 10 years ago and swears only potato vodka is safe. I was just diagnosed 2 months ago. Everything I read about vodka is ...conflicting. Maybe my sister is going off old information...?
  4. Wow. Thanks for all that info, Burdee. I have very low bp. In fact, when I have it taken they often ask if I am ok or if I feel faint. One time a nurse ran and got me a cookie (before I was diagnosed...so of course I ate it). And, I am always cold. My list of things to talk to my dr about is getting longer...as I get more informed...from all of you!
  5. Constipation is my issue! My sister has Celiac and she always had diarrhea so that is why I thought I didn't have it. By I do. I thought once I was diagnosed and eliminated gluten, I would get "regular". But it has been almost 6 weeks and I am still not. I need to take iron but am afraid that will make it worse. I am taking probiotics and trying to...
  6. Thanks for the suggestions. I am trying to be patient with feeling better. It is taking longer than I hoped (it has been a month - but lots of stuff I read said you could feel better in just 2 days of eliminating gluten). I just want to make sure I am doing everything right.
  7. Thanks everyone! I am sure my frustrations have to do with more than just questions from others. I am still adjusting and learning...and waiting to feel better. Anyway, my friend who always asks how my tummy is texted again today. I took her question as genuine concern and responded with a thorough explanation. I got a "wow" response. I feel better thinking...
  8. I've been living gluten-free for a ,onto now, and I feel like its consuming me, too. My every thought. I look at every food and analyze every bite that goes into my mouth. I am so glad I found this site. It's so good to know I am not going crazy. I'm not, right?
  9. I am newly diagnosed and am looking for suggestions on replies to other people's comments, such as "what happens if you eat wheat?" Or "how can you do It? I'd die if I couldn't eat wheat!?" Or " how's your tummy?" I want to scream. My tummy? It's not a stomach ache! Are people really that uninformed? Even before I was diagnosed I knew what Celiac was....
  10. I am newly diagnosed (1 month). I am iron deficient, as well as all the regular deficiencies Celiacs have. My dilemma is iron supplements cause constipation and that is what I am trying to get rid of. I just want to be "regular." My doctor advised me to wait to take iron until I am "regular" and take a multi vitamin, vitamin D, and Calcium. But I am worried...
