  1. Where you measure your body fat %, bone mass% and water mass %.... When we checked my stools there was not fat in them so it does not seem that I can't process fat... idk. What would one do to find out more about if they can't process fat? The fats I eat are almost completely healthy, like avocados, olive oil, fish... but cheese is my love lol. I...
  2. lol. Thanks. Based on body impedance I am about as much water as I should be, I just stored a sh*t ton of fat on my waist and abdomen and hips. My body needs to quit being dumb and realize all is good in the neighborhood.
  3. I have done insanity, P90X, Tapout XT, plus working out with a personal trainer.
  4. Sorry I was reading the comment from psawyer on my phone and the last part was placed WAAAAY down and I did not see it. I apologize for bothering you with my confusion.
  5. So is it a gamble mostly? I mean don't food companies HAVE to label the major allergen ingredients now? I am not taking part in thes items just to be safe...
  6. You poor thing. I don't have any advice as I am in the same boat but wanted to let you know you aren't alone.
  7. Hey everyone, I am coming to you to see what your experiences have been in weight gain with celiac. I am one of those who only found out about my celiac after a 35 lb weight gain despite proper diet and exercise. I am a normally very tiny female. I am 30 y/o now 5'0" and until the past 2 years have never been over 110. I am now 142 and keep expanding which...
  8. Good morning my fellow celiacs and gluten intolerants, I need some clarification. Recently I had posted something on colorings/flavorings. I have found that several items such as, BBQ sauce have nothing that screams gluten other than caramel coloring but my ShopWell app tells me to avoid due to gluten. What are your experiences with this?
  9. not just a celiac would know the importance of a dedicated fryer With my shellfish allergy I definitely know that importance. While you do bring up a good point, restaurants would not be open without customers and IMHO it is in their best interests to keep customers happy and help cater to special needs diets. I definitely love eating at higher end restaurants...
  10. Yeah. I am also deathly allergic to shellfish and mushroom and when I tell people that they think I will just sneeze or itch so I am almost rude until they understand undoubtedly that it will KILL me lol. It is so much easier and safer to eat at home. Now if only life would allow me to be home more to accomplish this feat. Oy vey. lol
  11. I have come across a lot of that too where they look at you with a thousand yard stare when I say "gluten", so then I escalate it. I think I speak for all of us here (if not them please don't crucify me) but when in the hell are these restaurants going to start doing stuff right? There are sooooooo many things that should NOT have gluten yet they do...
  12. for the theater popcorn. The rest I spoke with cooks etc, for instance mexican restaurants: confirmed they thicken all of their sauces with flour, yard house thickens the creme brulee with flour, you see? At least in my area they use flour to thicken anything that needs to be reduced or have a certain texture as a cost saving measure.
  13. I agree completely, but I am not going to take the chance. My whole point of this post was to show how many places add gluten to crap that shouldn't have it and how I have realized how much more aware I need to be. Just because a food "should" be safe I have found int he real world it really isn't. Super frustrating too but I am thankful I know how to...
  14. I swear that some of you people are as dense as paleo bread. I did not make a generalized false statement. I merely stated my experiences. I CALLED every mexican restaurant in a 60 mile radius of me where each and every one CONFIRMED that their sauces were not gluten free. I also confirmed with the theatre manager that their popcorn is not gluten free. What...
  15. Thank you brooks. I don't know why people seem to be having such an issue about my experiences that I listed here. I thought this place would be a good forum for support but I guess not. ::shrugs::.
  16. I never said I couldn't. My post is about the disbelief about how things that "should" be safe oddly are not. I called the theatre and asked which ingredients in the popcorn were not safe for a glutard as myself and it is colorings and flavoring. There were no lies or misinformation. Granted there are debates regarding the glutenous nature of flavorings and...
  17. I did not have the time to read the ingredients but I did take their word for it at the time. No need to critique my experience as being less than valid as I am merely trying to point out possible unforseen sources of gluten as I had pointed out several food items that should not have gluten that do contain it in restaurants. You can take it or leave it as...
  18. This was not a generalization of mine, this is what I was told by the concessions attendant and manager at the theatre. I was told verbatim by both that they had nothing gluten-free except beverages. The rest of my "claims" as you put them are my 100% bonafide experiences and research.
  19. Krikorian. I was shocked as all get out. There shouldn't be a cc issue nor gluten but apparently it is something. The girl told me there was nothing there that was gluten-free minus sodas and water. I am guessing some powder coating on the corn to keep it fresher longer? I have no freaking clue. I am learning so much about the way restaurants run...
  20. Hello my fellow celiacs. I hope you are all doing well. So after my diagnosis I have tried to avoid eating out as much as possible due to the risk of cc and the general ignorance of some of the food service workers. Some recent frustrations that I would like to point out as it may amuse/help some of you. 1. Although mexican food should be safe it ISN'T....
  21. Hey all. Today I found the BEST gluten-free/DF bakery EVER. I was eating from the gluten-free menu at Wilson Creek winery and they served me gluten-free bread that tasted like BREAD!!! Right now they ship to CA, AZ, and NV but maybe with enough following they could accommodate other states. They are called "So Good Gluten Free" and are located in Temecula...
  22. I get the trader joes brown rice pasta. I can't hardly tell the difference. It has a nice texture too and is hard to overcook to boot.
  23. I haven't been eating enough. Can't stand long enough to cook anything and the diarrhea makes me not want to eat. On a positive note it looks like some of my symptoms are bad reactions of one or more of the dozen supplements my dr prescribed. So I'm feeling a little better now that I dc'ed those and am figuring out what's making me sick
  24. I wish I had good days. So far I've felt worse each and every day that passes.
  25. Holy hell. How much longer should I expect this to last? I seriously asked my physician to put me in a medically induced coma until all of this passed LOL
