  1. No, I was just using that as an example of the severity of my reaction to hard cider.
  2. Do any of you have a reaction to topical gluten exposure? The chapstick threads got me thinking. Sometimes when I use a new lipstick or lip balm I break out in an itchy rash on my mouth. At first I thought they were cold sores but they're not. I guess they could be hives. Anyway, I don't have any skin reactions to gluten when I eat it so I don't think...

  4. I find I'm fine with wine but cider gives me terrible D. I have no idea why but it's equally as bad as when I drink beer. I also like margaritas (as long as the mix is gluten-free). Unfortunately wine is the only "casual" thing I can handle unless I want to get rip-roarin drunk.
  5. Lol- that reminds me of the time I had indian food during a flare up. I ate it because I knew it was safe and gluten-free, but I didn't take into account the chili as it was leaving. Now I know to eat PLAIN rice when my stomach hurts.
  6. I have a theory about celiac disease as well. Many of us have random elevated liver enzymes that can't be tracked to anything. Usually this occurs when we're not gluten-free and goes away when we are. Levine at Dartmouth (GREAT doctor by the way) reccommended Ciaran Kelly (617-667-1272) at Beth Israel and said he was the best in the city. He's got a 2 month wait though.
