  1. If your physician prefers that you try a gluten-free diet before (or instead of) performing an actual test for Celiac disease or gluten intolerance, I would definitely avoid all gluten - even trace amounts. People can be sensitive to and react to very minute amounts of gluten. Cross-contamination can be a source of gluten, too. Good luck and welcome...
  2. I'm not a doctor. So, my non-doctor observations/experience: Darker urine is one of the symptoms I can get, if I get glutened. However, going 6 hours without urinating is not recommended for anyone. Going long periods without urinating can lead to darker urine, but that's temporary. It's good that you had your doc check things, because it can certainly...
  3. Since you say you can't do any cooking: 1. Fruits, nuts or both with a diary-free yogurt (Silk, So Delicious, and Almond Dream are a few brand names). 2. Katz Gluten Free (website: Open Original Shared Link ) has several gluten-free and dairy-free breads, cookies, and cakes. They deliver and they are carried in some stores. (I really like their...

Kraft is one of the very few food companies I've been comfortable using since being diagnosed. If one of their products contains an allergen (wheat, soy, nuts, etc...
  6. I'll make two recommendations and they are both favorites: Locally, I like the Grease Box in Oakland, CA. Website: Open Original Shared Link. While, they are completely gluten-free, they do note other allergens present in the food they prepare. It's mainly a Southern-style breakfast/lunch place (no dinner) but it's very good and the menu changes often...
