  1. Thanks for the suggestions, I hope to find and try them all.
  2. So far I have tried about 5 different snack crackers and I have yet to find one that tastes good. None of them seem to have any salt in them as they are very bland. One of my guilty pleasures was a sleeve of Ritz crackers and a 16oz. bar of SHARP cheddar cheese, OH YUM!! I tried the Glutino brand cheddar flavored crackers, I think they forgot to put the cheddar...
  3. 10" on the ground already, still coming down hard, 19* and I'm starting to get the chills down to my bones. Something tells me I am going to be sick real soon.
  4. GFinDC please expand on your avoid alcohol comment.
  5. So I had the follow up with the Hematologist/Oncologist today. First order of business? 6 tubes of blood. 15 minutes later I met with the doc. Blood test shows an iron deficiency, however not too severe. Doc figures a couple of intravenous treatments should take care of it, then a check every 6 months or so. On the other hand though, a low white blood cell...
  6. Lirren this is what I have been going through for the past 11 years! I went to a gastro specialist regarding the excessive gas and D. He did a Colonoscopy "found nothing", and told me to stop belching and take "beano" and that should do it. Oh, he also gave me a script for Protonix for my acid reflux. Fast forward to 2013 while I'm still suffering from the...
  7. Boneless ribeye steak 1" thick med. rare, large baked potato smothered in sour cream and butter. Was absolute heaven ! !
  8. Just curious as to how much gluten-free shopping people here do online?
  9. Number 3 clipper on the top and a number 2 on the sides and back. Ivory soap does a great job !!
  10. My Maximus !! 100 lbs of goof ball shepherd.
  11. Found lasagna noodles in Giant today. Woo-Hoo ! can't wait for dinner on Monday!
  12. 60 freakin degrees today? I don't get it......
  13. So we had spaghetti for dinner, gluten free of course. I was pleasantly surprised by the pasta. Bionature organic gluten free, made from rice, potato and soy. Smothered of course with my own homemade sauce. At least I won't have to suffer when it comes to spaghetti !!
  14. Thanks for the replies and advice. Like I said the less trial and error the better.
  15. Ok, so heres the scoop. I've always had a suspicion that something was wonky in my body. I've always been gassy, no matter what I ate, and I was always able to eat seconds and thirds (depending on the meal). Last year my 70+ year old mom was diagnosed with colon cancer (since removed and she is completely cancer free now). My last colonoscopy was in 2005...
  16. I'd suggest using "shoestring" fries, and weaving them together, then fry them.
  17. So, either I drank too much of the aplle brandy while cooking or the recipe just wasn't as good as it sounded, was kinda bland. I'll have to give this one another spin sometime and tweak it, ALOT! Now, what to make tonight,hmmm....
  18. 6 ish! BTW, not to rub it in, but sorry bout your Chiefs! I feel your pain though, I am a lifelong Eagles fan. Not the snowball throwing, vulgar, idiot type though ;-)
  19. Pork chops, with Apple cider, apple brandy and fresh sliced apples. the sauce is reduced down with heavy cream and served over the chops.
  20. Even though I am a newbie, and I hate to just jump in to long established threads like this one, I'm going to post my menu for tonight since it's the first true meal of my new year (I've been living on plain chicken, boiled rice and oatmeal since early Dec.) Anyhow; Triple Apple Threat Pork Chops, home made Rice pilaf and steamed Broc & Cauli Can...
  21. Thank you for the welcomes everyone, and a special thanks to "kareng" for the link. I will take all the advice given here and put it to good use I promise. Hopefully soon enough I'll be able to share some experiences and recipes with you all. Thanks again for the warm welcome !! :-)
  22. Dear God, don't let this happen to me! I love to cook, especially for my wife and kids. I love food. I've had professional training and even a brief career in the kitchen. I specialize in Italian/American cusuine, I have mad skills when it comes to soup making too. If I lose interest in cooking and food in general I think it would send me in to a depression...
  23. I was actually looking for a welcome / introduction thread, and unless I'm totally blind I didn't see any. I am newly registered here on Celiac.com and recently diagnosed ( Dec. 2013) I can see this new lifestyle is going to take some getting used to and I'm hoping to get some help, support, encouragement and perhaps a decent pasta recipe to make this...
