  1. Just got a call from the groomer...Elsie is quite matted- - heinous - - and they will therefore be charging me more. They estimated that it has been at least six months since she's been clipped. This is FAR too long, as their hair gets full of mats, not to mention how bloody hot she was when we all went out for walks. Gus was trotting along, tongue lolling...
  2. We were at my parents' yesterday, with my sister and her hubby. We talked about why glue doesn't stick to the inside of the bottle, and then we briefly debated where libraries put thier copies of The Bible (fiction or non-fiction), and then whether the people who use sign language see little hands in their head when they think about what somebody said, or...
  3. Yessssss!!! Ryan behaved as though I'd asked him about how his weather is, and not about his knowledge of anal glandular functioning ...so he's a keeper. Sure did. I'll be making up double-lined flowcharts for you all quite shortly.... Amanda!! I do hope Jen's eye is okay......
  4. Hey!! A new Silly, and it's a GUY!! Wait....Ryan, perhaps you've posted in Sillyville before, in which case, my apologies for not remembering you. Welcome to this utter madness! Um.....do you know anything about anal glands? No winds here to worry about lifting up skirts, thankfully.....
  5. Good Monday morning, Sillies! Well, am taking Elsie in to be clipped this afternoon, so we'll be able to see what she really looks like....and how thin she really is. We can feel some serious bones in her hips, and I'm bracing myself for when this mass of hair comes off. I also believe that she was not being given enough water - - you should have seen...
  6. Well....... Dh took both kids out last evening to get all the groceries for the dinner they were planning for me tonight. They picked up beef ribs, baby potatoes, asparagus, yummy exotic salad ingredients, and a very expensive Australian pinot. They got home, and Will asked Jack to put the two big bags of groceries in the fridge downstairs. This afternoon...
  7. Well.....having done it BOTH ways, I will say that the needle in spine hurt like s@!t going in, and then there was sixteen hours of...nothing, like....nothing. No urge to bear down, no rush and pull of the baby in her final descent....nothing. The specialist essentially told me when she was crowning, so that I could try and have a look. Certainly something...
  8. Janet, I second this.... 'Tis a glorious thing, that needle........
  9. Jeez! What a coincidence! I asked my mom if she'd like something like this for Mother's Day....ya should've seen the look she gave me!....
  10. Yes, you're right, Laura! Patti deserves special mention - - she is EVERYONE'S MOM!!! What would we do without her?
  11. HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY, MOMMIES!!!!! Will make balloons and confetti show after.......
  12. OMG.....How could we have forgotten Alex and Ryan's wedding???!! They'll be rockin' on the dancefloor right now...... I'm telling you, she'd better be on here early tomorrow morning, reporting on how the wedding night went..... Whoa, Peter! How can you stand that kind of excitement?!
  13. It's so great here.... You guys are terrific, excited about my little life's twists, let alone caring at all! I honestly was as excited to tell you guys about Elsie (perhaps even more... )as I was to tell my kids! You bet, it could REALLY be worth it, as you can perhaps have Patti's plumber in to install it..... It's bizarre...
  14. Gaaaaahhhhhhh....all this talk of happy childhood junk food memories.... I've got none, really....T'was diagnosed with type one at seven. There went all the Dairy Queen weekend treats, McDonald's milkshakes, Wendy's frosties.... When I'm hypoglycemic, I'll have a half a caramilk bar at times......YUUUUUUUUMMMMMMM...... So! She's HERE!!!!!! Elsie...
  15. Well....her name right now is Chelsea, and I would never change a year-old dog's name to something totally different, as I could see that being pretty confusing, but my niece is Chelsea, she's around a lot, and it's so much a "human" name, somehow, for me. I'd like to alter it a little, perhaps to Elsie, which is a great old Scotish derivitive of Elizabeth...
  16. King Peter!! Mornin' all! Busy day today - - The Ripper's first baseball game of the season this morning, then out to see you-know-who this afternoon! Stay tuned.....
  17. Lisa!!! You MUST stay on here for ONE MORE POST......You're poised for a big flipover - - and you can't believe what happens around here when you hit a hundred mark!! Wild, incredible things....Fate must have brought you here on your 99th post, I tell ya.... Welcome to the insanity! Whoa.......having to draw homozygous? I can barely pronounce...
  18. Yes.....scanning memory banks....acute angina...... Young Southern belle responds to Dr.'s comment - -"Why, thank you, Doctah!"
  19. Someone else who needs Gravol! (Susie, Gravol is like Dramamine - - anti-motion-sickness med... Whoa...........Patti, that yummy young plumber pulled out a BALLCOCK to install when he was there??! Janet! Surely with an inner dialogue like that, Josie must be keeping squirrels at bay and saving your screens! So....speaking...
  20. Gus does this exact thing, also, at different times of the day. Sits ramrod straight, like a spectacular showdog, squints and remains still. Thinking? Praying? Bah....This is a MALE, remember.....likely what's going on: "Now, do I have to poop? Um.....should I go and empty my food dish first? Is either cat around to flip up into the air? Or drooling...
  21. Stop!! STOP!!! Too confusing!! Like a strobe light in darkness...I can't stand it!!! Arbitrary, interrupted words.....Gaaaaaahhhhhh.... I say we just throw some emoticons into a post flurry....THAT I can handle without having to go and take a Gravol.....
  22. PHUNEE!! (Doesn't flow as hilariously as intended.....Bev!! Ya got in me way!)
