  1. AND......How very much better you'll smell for us when we all meet!
  2. Fever = BLECH!.... But.... Flowers = YYYYYYAAAYYYYY!!!!
  3. Good Sunday morning, Sillies! Thinking of everyone....Son of Silly update, please! How are you feeling this weekend, Sarah? Is your high-octane antibiotic blasting things up for you? Bev! A better day today, I hope. What did you make Kissey and yourself for dinner last evening, Susie? No beans, of this I am certain...Now, Ptaoughmn (I cannot believe...
  4. Ptaoughmn! Superb...... Quick question for you....Have you heard of/seen David Liebman? Apparently he's an uncompromising saxophonist who's playing here tonight, and I think we may head out to catch him. He's a "thoughtful acolyte" of John Coltrane, so I don't think we can go wrong. I cannot believe we're actually planning this--it's been a long...
  5. Yes! Patti, this job opportunity could be terrific, and it sounds ideal for just about any and all of us! I'd lurrrrve to work in a medical office, I think more than I like teaching, actually. So, put me on the list as candidates if you turn it down. I'll need a travel allowance as I'll be flying down for each shift, and I can only work after twelve,...
  6. Hallo, Sillies! Ahhh! 26 degrees C today!! Sun! Blood sugar is 4.8! Bev!! Oh, my heart goes out to you. Incredible how much we humans can tolerate...I SO admire you getting through the HEINOUS treatment of this horrid illness. Uncle Ray.... We want Uncle Ray to become a Silly! You have asked him, haven't you...
  7. Thank heavens! I'm glad you're not doing this yet, Ptaoughmn. Gaaah!! I wanna wait to test, too! However, I cannot put off such things... Think my readings will be just jake.
  8. Yep. I feel best when I'm between 4 and 5, and I do not feel hypoglycemic symptoms until very low. Anything above 8 is rare for me. But what a tightrope....! Peter, we ate out on our deck tonight, too. Beautifully warm...the tulips and crocuses are peeking up. A transit strike? Heinous!!...Guess they're not an essential service, are they? For...
  9. It's a very low reading. Oracle Peter knows about this.... It drives me INSANE to be slipping off the tightrope that is tight blood sugar control--INSANE! However, I have complete health care, I'm not suffering the hell of nicotene withdrawal, I'm not depressed and fatigued....I am lucky...! But I am also very unsilly all of a sudden..... More effexor...
  10. This all sounds good, Sarah, considering it could have been much worse. After all.....YOU'RE NOT PREGNANT!! Your GP sounds terrific. Ephedra has always frightened me, and I'm glad to hear you are off it. Once that funny fever has dissipated, I'm sure you will feel much better. High temps make ya feel like crap!
  11. Yep, Julie makes good sense. But OMG--I'll bet you'll be truly grieving, Susie, as I would be, if I discovered I had to stay away from legumes. Such a staple for me...Well, perhaps if you eliminate them, you can reintroduce them slowly, as people seem to be able to do with some intolerances. Fingers crossed for you! Speaking of foggy heads, I had one...
  12. Gosh...I'm still flummoxed at the thought of surgery and a hospital stay being a big bill to pay... Nikki!! What's the word from Alan? Is he Bippity-Boppity-Boo-in'?
  13. Oh, that's great that your moms have helped, Sarah! It's so true. That's what families are for. But I am SO struck by this notion of HAVING TO PAY for a doctor's visit. So it really does work that way? If you don't have the money, you cannot get medical help? Mygawd....this is so very wrong. Must you pay when you go to emergency, as well? My kids...
  14. Oh, this sucks, Carla. You and Sarah both......wait--a sore throat may be the only thing Sarah hasn't had to deal with..... And it sucks right now for you, too, Ptaoughmn. If the weather's appropriate, head out for a long, meandering, cigarette-less walk. Take really big, slow, deep breaths. Start to count them as you go, making sure the numbers...
  15. Hi, Carla! Long time no read! Ptaum catches you now and then on the humaworm thread, and has said you are very busy, in a GOOD way.... What kind are you planting, Patti? We need a fast-growing tree with a big canopy. Thinking of a willow, but were discouraged because they suck up so much water and can play hell with house foundations, pipes...
  16. Morning, Ma Sillies! Earthquake? How exciting, Janet! Did you hide in the basement? No--run outside--no....what do you do when an eathquake strikes? Well! Today Sarah's got her crucial appointment with the doc. So glad you're going, Sarah--just let it all pour out. Help shall come! Today is, what--day 2 of the new Smoke-free Ptaoughmn? ...
  17. You may be getting a call from a guy in Togo...."Thank gawd you've moved!!"
  18. Oh, boy....I was thinkin' about the lack of Silly and prevalence of Sad 'round here, so I called my dad and asked him to tell me something to throw in for comic relief. He told me to tell you all about the light switch in their living room. It doesn't do anything, and they've never bothered to ask the maintenance guys or cleaners about it. Every so often...
  19. Hi, Jo! A big welcome. Indeed, the more the merrier. If you stick around long enough, you really will begin to feel like you're in a big family, sluggin' it out together....
  20. Hi, Ursula! So sorry you're going through all this. I've had two abcesses that were due to infection under the same tooth, about a year apart. The pain was considerable, and there was a lot of swelling. Both times I was prescribed an antibiotic, and once I started it, the swelling and pain were gone in less than 48 hours. So, I'm sure this will...
  21. Hi, Peter! Now, I'm curious...who here posted on that thread? It had to be at least two years ago, or more. I know I posted...at least once....maybe two or...three times.
  22. 'Atta Goil!! I don't either! When I was in the absolute depths of post-partum depression and suddenly having trouble functioning, my husband marched me into my GP, no call, no appointment, and after taking one look at me, the nurse pushed me through and I saw him within about ten minutes. Sometimes you feel so overwhelmed, it's just too much...
  23. Oh, Sarah. I'm SO sorry. You must be getting tired of hearing how sorry we are and how it'll get better. But we are, and it will! I agree with Susie--YOU must be first priority, because you cannot be the great mom and daughter you are and need to be when sick. Take care of your kids, but take care of yourself. Are there heavier-duty antibiotics...
  24. Yeah, Patti! Gawd...no wonder ya have fifty thousand posts! Yyyyyesssss!! It's 72 F here!
  25. Um......What are banshees? Thought they were part of the West Indian voodoo culture---dead people who can walk around, terrifying and cursing people.... Susie, you do not need one of those. You'd have to house him, perhaps feed him....and I don't believe these guys help one digest beans.... I've often read posts on here dealing...
