  1. I have seen a few posts about the Huntington NY location of Besito's Restaurant and their ability to handle the gluten free diet - does anyone know if the West Hartford, CT location of Besito's offer gluten free too? Thanks, Janet
  2. Jason - good news on your results. I am going in for a colonoscopy this week and they have given Dulcolax and Miralax/Gatorade for the prep. Is this what you used? I have been trying to find out if Dulcolax is gluten-free??
  3. Saw this on Gluten Free Fun Blog: King Arthur Flour
  4. I have been gluten free and dairy for about 4 years but I still struggle with the constant bloating - I have heard deigestive enzymes might be helpful - any recommendations? Thanks, Janet
  5. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease 5 years ago and I have been on a gluten free diet ever since. It took some time but the diet has significantly improved my health. I suffered from celiac symptoms - diareaha, malabsorption, anxiety and depression - for 15 years before I was diagnosed. During those years, I developed a phobia and anticipatory anxiety...
  6. I have eaten all of the Hormel Naturals and have never had a problem - I think you might be on to something with the delayed reaction. I know I find that having to figure out what bothered me each time I feel "glutened" can be very frustrating and often makes me go back and investigate what I had the day before. Good Luck and feel better! Janet
  7. I am sorry to hear of your wife's GI distress. When I was first diagnosed, I lived on grilled chicken, rice, baked potatos, canned peaches, applesauce and water. To help soothe my stomach, I also drink a cup of peppermint tea after each meal. This has helped significantly with the cramps and bloating. Good Luck. Janet
  8. I have found one Peppermint Oil pill (Pepogest) and then a cup of Peppermint Tea with each meal - it really soothes the stomach! Good Luck!
  9. Hi all, I was diagnosed about 5 years ago and as all of us do, I am diligent about being gluten free. Since I spent most of my undiagnosed life living with stomach upset, I developed the obsession of analyyzing the causes to hopefully find relief. So now I find myself frustrated when I experience stomach upset - is it stress related, bad food, stomach...
  10. Hi all, I love that Chex has come out with gluten free cereals - so far the rice and corn have been great. I also tried the cinnamon and choc/vanilla flavors - I can't say that I got "glutened" but I didn't feel good after eating them - anyone else have that reaction? Thanks, Janet
  11. I have been purchasing Nature Made supplements for years, since they have always clearly labeled "Gluten Free". I noticed today however, the Maltodextrin is listed in the Other Ingredients section??? Can they label it Gluten Free if it contains this ingredient? Thanks, Janet
  12. GREAT NEWS - I just confirmed with BARR Pharmaceuticals that the Birth Control Pill Seasonique is wheat and gluten free!!!! Janet
  13. I am so glad that I happened on to this thread - I have been gluten free for 2 years now but I still have bouts of D - I never made the connection that the damaged villi would have problems tolerating other items. I thought if the villi were healed I would back to normal (whatever normal is?). Is lactose the next thing on the elimination diet for me...
  14. You are probably right - I guess I was thinking that since soy and wheat are on the must be listed list - they should temper the 100% with this note.
