In response to the MDs' responses of "nothing is wrong with you." mentality, I have decided to no longer do any more testing for symptoms. (I despise being the guinea pig.) Instead, I am going to do what I know to do: stay on the gluten-free diet, start exercising on a more routine basis, and Healing Touch. Is there anything else I can do to promote/accelerate...

Okay, here's the thing. Since going off gluten, I have noticed other triggers as well for the "episodes" I have dealing with. If I get sick, even with a cold, or hormones fluctuate, my body goes wacko on me. Could this also be contributed to 30 years of gluten? I have a neurology test tomorrow, and am a little nervous about it. I want an answer, but...

I have never had to deal with cancer of any kind so far in my life, but I want to wish you well and I will be praying for you.

I was just thinking this morning how it is so easy to been concerned/worried about what is happening or what will happen if we get "glutenized". Is it going to be severe or just a small reaction? Are my kids going to be okay? How will others react to my diagnosis or even to my children's diagnosis? Then I think of the Lord stating in Matthew 6:28b, "Consider...

ARCHIVED Keep going or stop all together?

I guess the positive change is that I am not having siezures as much anymore. Oh, I still get the brain fog every now and then, but it does not last as long. When I get the brain fog, it's usually a precursor to the twitching and spasming. Because of this, I apply Frankicense Essential Oil to the base of thes kull where it meets the spinal cord. This... -
ARCHIVED Keep going or stop all together?

I have been off gluten for almost 10 months now. How long does it have to take? I had a healing touch treatment yesterday, and my body just went crazy on the therapist. Is this STILL a part of the gluten? -

I really dispise sometimes the idea of needing to be an adult. YUCK! -
Symptoms have not resolved completely but are getting better. Myself and my family are under the conclusion it is not just gluten that is the problem, just a HUGE trigger. Found this site as a help in understanding what others do in the same situations and how they go about it.

Gemini, We are totally getting off topic, but thanks for the info. I guess there's more to what I am dealing with. Thanks you though for the info. it's greatly appreciated.

The main reason they did not go for the whole panel I believe is that they were under the assumption that because I had no classic GI symptoms of gluten issues, I did not have gluten "Sensitivity/intolerance". My TGG was a 12 and the TGA was a 1. They wanted me to go for the endoscopy but I decided against it because there was no GI issues. What symptoms...

Just the transglutaminase TGA and TGG. My TGG levels were off the charts while my TGA level was in the normal range. And I had to push to get these ones taken.

How big are the odds? I tested positive for gluten sensitivity January of '16 and I went gluten free October of '15. This would be put me at the 3 month range.

It could very well be possible your body is still healing from eating gluten beforehand. It's like peeling an onion. Your body is probably just getting rid of another layer of the poison and trying to heal itself. I have heard those with gluten sensitivity have reactions even 6 months to a year after going gluten free, but the symptoms become less and...

Update from another post made: I had my neurologist appt. just last week due to the symptoms I had been experiencing. He wants me to go for an EMG, and we had gotten it scheduled for mid-August. My question is should I keep searching for what's going on? I am in the "in between" stage when I feel the best of the best. It's like there is nothing actually... -
ARCHIVED gluten free bakery
cstark replied to cstark's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
What I meant by it being "hands-off" is that the foods that normally have gluten are made gluten-free at this bakery having the taste and texture of its glutenized cousin. -
ARCHIVED gluten free bakery
cstark posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I had just read of Sami's bakery not being gluten free. Honestly, I'm from North Dakota so I am not familiar with Sami's bakery. However, there is a certified gluten-free bakery in Fargo, ND that I and a celiac friend of mine that go to regularly for the goodies that are considered hands-off due to gluten. The store's name is Mehl's gluten free bakery... -
ARCHIVED Help, got glutened last night and brain fog already. What can I do?
cstark replied to Kitty123's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
No I don't drink alcohol at all and I substitute sweet potatoes for the white potatoes partly because of carb aspect. White potatoes are digested easily and turn quickly into sugar because they are what experts call simple carbs. Sweet potatoes however are complex carb and allow them to broken down and be used body a lot better. Something I wanted to... -
ARCHIVED Help, got glutened last night and brain fog already. What can I do?
cstark replied to Kitty123's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Actually I have found I have more energy during the day, and sleep very well at night. When I have more grains or processed foods, I find I don't sleep as well because my digestive system is still hard at work and not getting the rest it needs. My systems actually work better when I cut back on the amount of grains. A lot of the time these days, the grains... -
ARCHIVED Help, got glutened last night and brain fog already. What can I do?
cstark replied to Kitty123's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
With me, sometimes too much grain makes my digestive slow way down. It makes me feel like I have a lead ball in my stomach. It takes some digestive enzymes to get my system running again. Annoying, I know. I have not cut out all grains, but for the majority of the time I do without. Estes, if you are considering taking out grains, try substituting spaghetti... -
ARCHIVED Help, got glutened last night and brain fog already. What can I do?
cstark replied to Kitty123's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
When brain fog rolls in for me, I do Frankincense Essential Oil right at the bottom of the skull at the top of the spine. There's a little notch where the two meet. I put barely a drop of the oil there, and it works within minutes of the attack. Brain still is a bit fuzzy, but at least I would be concentrate and not feel like a Mack truck ran over my head... -
I am finding this to that EVERYONE is wanting to know why I need to be off of gluten. If the setting is appropriate I attempt to give basic details because face it, some people just don't need to know the reactions I have during a gluten attack. If they show a genuine concern but the setting is not right, I would let them know I can explain it later to...

ARCHIVED IGG vs. IGA test results
cstark posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I was looking at my gluten test results and noticed that the Transglutaminase blood test was done. However, there are two immunoglobulins that were tested from it looks like. The IGG showed a score of 12 which high of the normal range of <6. The IGA showed normal levels. What is the difference? -
ARCHIVED I'm actually scared to go to the doctor and could use some advice
cstark replied to Elle1's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Elle1, My symptoms started Oct. 2015, so I do understand what you are going through. At first, the doctors thought it was all my head that I was crazy. One had actually referred to psyche, which got me angry. My symptoms have gotten better after going off gluten as it is the main trigger for my symptoms (twitching to my left side and brain fog). ... -
ARCHIVED Is it worth getting tested?
cstark replied to Tbetteridge's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
When you go off gluten and then accidentally get cross-contaminants, your body will go into hyper drive to get the poison out of system because it was starting to get used to operating without the gluten. It stinks during the reaction time, yes, but hang in there.
