  1. I'll go first. 1.) Once you started the Gluten Free Diet (GFD), how long did you go before your first involuntary glutening? 1 month 2.) How many times were you glutened your first year? Once in my 1 month, 1 week on a GFD. 3.) How long do your symptoms last once you've been glutened? Currently on day 5 after first...
  2. I'd love to get your input on the questions below to help us newbies. 1.) Once you started the Gluten Free Diet (GFD), how long did you go before your first involuntary glutening? 2.) How many times were you glutened your first year? 3.) How long do your symptoms last once you've been glutened? 4.) How long have you been on a GFD...
  3. I'm still in the healing stage, but beans don't seem to bother me. I wish I could say the same for cow dairy, nuts, and acidic foods. I don't know why beans don't bother me, but so far so good. The only beans I eat are what I make from dried beans. I like that they're cheaper and easy to store. I wash them well under running water, soak them in...
  4. @Ennis_TX - Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for these and give them a try.
  5. Hi Sella, I've just started the healing phase and can't handle cow dairy except for some butter (which has little to no casein or lactose in it). I can't eat cow milk, cheese, yogurt. I don't know if my issues with cow dairy products are due to lactose or casein (or both) because I'm not having any typical reactions to isolate the issue. I'm able...
  6. Shoot! I put the wrong year in the title, and I can't find the correction button anymore. Sorry everyone. I looked into this in Dec 2016, not '17.
  7. I ordered the Naurade Vegan Smart All-in-one Nutritional Shake, Vanilla, 22.8 oz on Jan 5th, 2017 through Amazon. It was through the 3rd party vendor Nutrition Depot. This product was recommended on this forum and I though I'd give it a try. The label on Amazon didn't have any mention of gluten ingredients, not processed in a facility with wheat, and...
  8. @ Fbmb - Thanks! Good luck on your test. Too bad we can't just study harder to get a better score. I'm hoping my tummy feels better: I really miss wearing jeans. Right now jeans are too painful to wear, and they weren't at all tight before the celiac bloat.
  9. Where do you get your coconut? I've been trying to find safe unsweetened coconut and haven't been able to find anything other than products from questionable sources. Thanks!
  10. @ Gemini - Thank you for that. I've been trying to be as gentle to my body as possible so that I can heal and feel better, but I may be going overboard. I'm just really worried about everything right now. It's so hard for me to know if something is bothering me because I'm healing or because of something I'm eating due to an intolerance or hidden gluten....
  11. @tessa25 - I only use a small amount of diced artichoke hearts in my chicken bean salad. No dressing since the marinade is enough for me. I don't eat them by themselves. It doesn't seem to bother me, but maybe I should give those up too while I'm in the healing stage? I've also read people giving up beans, but I worry about giving up the fiber. Unfortunately...
  12. @tessa25 - Thank you! I'm on a whole foods diet except for some marinated artichoke hearts, almond milk, and goat cheese (all checked with the supplier to be gluten-free...fingers-crossed). I can't handle cow dairy, anything acidic, anything spicy (including my beloved paprika which I never considered spicy till now), or nuts. Having to give up cheese and...
  13. Another member suggested Naturade: Vegansmart: Open Original Shared Link. I'm not sure if they ship to you, but maybe something to check out. I'm sorry, but I don't remember who or what topic it was to give her/him credit.
  14. Thanks everyone. I love getting information and suggestions. I'm new at this and trying to post what I find out to add to the information here. I've already been helped so much by what I've found from all of you.
  15. Thank you everyone. I'm new at this and trying to get as much information as possible, be as safe as possible for my health, and want to post what I find here since I've been getting all sorts of great information from this forum.
  16. Hello Everyone, I'm new to this wonderful world of celiac disease. I had my endoscopy/biopsy done on 12/23/16 and immediately started a gluten-free diet. I'm starting to feel a little better, but am still in pain; scared about the disease's short- and long-term health and lifestyle implications; and grieving about all of this. My tTG IgA Quantitative...
  17. I asked my pharmacist if Levothyroxine was safe for me to take as a celiac. She said she didn't know and told me to look at the ingredient list. Nice huh? Here's what I found. Levothyroxine Ingredients: Active Ingredients: Levothyroxine Sodium Inactive Ingredients: Acacia Senegal, Corn Starch, FD&C Blue No. 2, FD&C Red No. 40...
  18. I emailed Penzeys Spices about gluten and possible cross-contamination (cc). Here's what I sent and their response: Email request sent 12/19/16 from me: Hello Penzeys, Are your herbs, spices, spice blends, and extracts processed in a plant that also processes gluten (wheat, rye, or barley)? Are there any additives that aren't listed on your...
