  1. I agree with what everyone is saying. My daughter had to go through a year of pain before they would scope her and find the colitis. I can not believe what they expect little ones to go through. They would never tell an adult to deal with daily pain and bloody stools. It is awful. I finally went to a specialist pediatric GI, of course the doctors didn...
  2. Hi there, I am wondering if anyone can answere this. My daughter had inconclusive blood panel, but a negative gene test. She also had c-dif and eosinophilic colitis. Can you still have celiac with negative gene tests? Could you have glutten sensitivity still? Right now her allergist has her off wheat, dairy, tomato and citric acid. Thanks for any...
  3. Thanks so much for the link. That is good information to share.
  4. My daughter battles constipation too. We did mineral oil and it help everything come out easily for a while. Now I give her prunes daily, she actually loves them and it helps keep her regular and soft. She does not get dairy and has always had this issue since birth. I also struggle with it, but have found taking benefiber chewables daily keeps me regulated...
  5. My daughter had to take culturelle, it was over the counter at Wallgreens. The doctor had us open the capsul and put the powder into her applesauce or soy yogurt. We just got a dairy free probiotic for her at the health store that has to be refrigerated, which is probably not good for someone if they are on the go. She had a lot of bloody mucos before...
  6. Thanks for all the responses. I guess the feeling is don't give a list of ideas for people and just pack things for her. I will however try to come up with a list of things for her grandparents. Heather
  7. I pack her lunches too and send special snacks, but it would be nice if she could have what other kids bring sometimes too, and a list for the daycare to check.
  8. Hi everyone, does anyone have a list or a link or something to a list of gluten free foods. It doesn't have to be comphrehensive. I would like to give my daughter's daycare and grandparents a list of things that they can have available for her or things to have on hand that they don't have to worry about. Thanks, Heather
  9. Thanks for all of the tips, It gives me lots of good ideas to choose from. Heather
  10. Hi everyone, I was hoping I could get some recipes or tips for my 3yr old. Her daycare is having a V-Day party and serving ice cream and pizza. She can't have dairy, tomato, or wheat (gluten). Any ideas of what I could take for her to enjoy. I think they have a microwave if she needs something heated. Thanks for any ideas. Heather
  11. I agree with the pediasure, they are great. My daughter loves them, but now we have to cut out dairy too. Most kids like the chocolate especially. Nut butters are good too for adding cals and fat, if they can be in your daughter's diet. What about potatoes? Hope this helps some, Heather
  12. Thanks for the replies. We just went to an allergist this week. She said we have to eliminate dairy, all grains and wheat, tomato, and citric acid. She said to stick with corn, rice, potato, soy etc. So, it looks like it will be a very expensive trip to the health stores this weekend. I am afraid it will be very hard for my daughter to adjust to the...
  13. My daughter is starting gastrocrom too. I am waiting to start it until after her allergy tests Monday. They said not to take any allergy meds 3 days prior to the appointment. That is good that you gon't have any unusually side effects from it. I hate reading the possible side effects on the medicines, because it just gives me more to worry about. It is...
  14. Thanks so much for the response. She has an appointment with an allergist tomorrow, so hopefully we can get an idea soon as to what she is allergic too. Is it always a food allergy with eosinophilic colitis?
  15. Hello all, I am new to this site. My daughter has struggled with intestinal trouble since birth, bad colic, put on soy milk and special bottles but still very bad tummy troubles. She has had on again off again problems with stools, bloody, mucos, daily pain. She is now three and diagnosed with eosinophilic colitis by a colonoscopy and biopsy results. ...
