  1. Hi! I know that every Indian place is different, but all the ones in my area (Oregon) that I've been to, don't have any gluten in anything other than the bread which is obvious. My favorite is the Chicken Makahani!! It's so good and I've never been glutened!
  2. I hate to be the downer on this because I when to OSF and was really excited that they had gluten-free noodles. The meal tasted great, but I was SOOO sick after. I was told the only sauce to have was the brown butter and cheese and it may have been gluten-free, but I think just all the gluten in the environment there might have done me in. This was at...
  3. I agree with all of you, I'd love to have a dr on my side that would work with me. However, I'm also tired of watching all the medical bills come in every month and having no progress made in my actually feeling better. I'm tired of going to dr's that just think I'm nuts and then paying hundreds for their quack opinion. I'm just looking for something I...
  4. I was told by my doctor that the elimination diet wouldn't be something that would work for me because I've had an anaphylactic reaction to wheat and that it would be too much of a risk to try this with other foods. That's all the information that I have and I took a regular allergy test, but all it showed was wheat. I know that wheat and gluten are...
  5. So I'm convinced that I have some other food intolerances that are affecting how I feel. I am severely allergic to wheat though, and so the elimination diet is not recommended. I've heard about the Lame Advertisement and York tests and I know they are expensive, but if I can't do the elimination diet, would this be the best way to figure out what else is...
  6. I'm suprised so many people have liked Proactive! My husband and I both tried it and it made our skin much worse. My skin may be a little sensative, but his is tough as nails and it made both of us break out like crazy! It made my skin SUPER dry, red and then I got more acne. I was not a fan at all. I use a Clindamyicn gel now and that works great...
  7. I've gone to Taco Bell a few times since going gluten-free and have been safe with the tostada. I also just checked their website and found these suggestions: Suggestions for Wheat and Gluten Sensitive Individuals - Tostada - Fiesta Taco Salad (order Chicken instead of Beef; order without the shell and without the Red Strips) - Express Taco Salad...
  8. Hi guys! I love Larabars, but since most only have a few ingredients, does anyone know how to make them? They should be easy in theory... If anyone has a recipe, I'd love to see it! Thanks!
  9. Thank you! I feel the exact same way. I know that I have a reaction when I eat gluten, I was just trying to see if anything else aggrevated my condition. I never had asthma before this new reaction, but the dr said that I do now. It's all so weird but I really appreciate all of your help! Thank you again!
  10. Thank you everyone! It's just good to know that I'm not crazy! I was so frustrated with that dr!! I learn so much more from this site than I ever have from a doctor! Thank you!
  11. Right it would have seemed that I did have an allergic reaction, but nothing showed up on my skin. The DR said that to have that sort of reaction to a skin prick test is impossible, but everytime I have gluten, I have trouble breathing. I know there are a few other people on this site that have had similar reactions to gluten. I was just trying to get...
  12. I'm just curious if this has happened to anyone else. Whenever I get glutented, I have a very hard time breathing and the only thing that will help me is Benedryl and an inhaler. I know that this is my symptom and I'm getting more used to it. I had a skin prick test with various foods (corn, wheat, soy, milk, etc) and immidiately after, I had my normal...
  13. Where can I buy these? They sound great!
  14. I went to a health food market near my work to get some lunch, because I figured being a health food store they might be a little more informed. They had a tomato soup that looked good, so I asked if it had any gluten (wheat, barely etc) in it. She said, "No, no, no, it's vegetarian!" Haha! Then I went to a Mexican restaurant and asked to speak to a...
  15. Thank you! I think putting it on will take a bit of getting used to, but thank you for the tips! I'll try it out tomorrow!
