  1. If you're showing signs of malnourishment, I'd recommend supplements. I take them only for specific purposes. B complex - to aid sleep & regulate mood Quercetin - to alleviate food sensitivities Cal/Mag - to maintain tooth enamel/calm mood Enzymes - as a digestion aid (stops girgling in stomach) Probiotics - to alleviate C and bloating EFA's...
  2. Thank you all for the feedback. C ___________________ Diagnosed: December 30, 2005 Gluten-Free: February 1, 2006 "Serenity Now" - Frank Costanza
  3. For those of us that are cuisinally challenged, can anyone recommend a safe gluten-free pasta sauce? I've seen some on the Delphi list, but I know cross contamination might still be an issue there (if it is with Amy's). I make my own soup everyday out of necessity, but pasta sauce, it just never tastes the same as good ol' store-bought, out of a jar. ...
  4. I hear ya. I've just discovered I had Celiac in my forties so I know about leaky gut. The last biofeedback testing I had showed many sensitivities I didn't know about, but certainly explained why my eyes would get red and wattery after almost every meal. I'm dealing with it through a rotational diet - trying to eat most foods just once every four...
  5. Hi Patti - can you tell me what products you have found that are manufactured in a dedicated factory? thanks - Care _____________________ Diagnosed: December 30, 2005 Gluten-Free: February 1, 2006
  6. I use a digestive enzyme (usually bromelain) with fatty meals. Lecithin can help emulsify fat too. Care _____________ Diagnosed: December 30, 2005 Gluten-Free: February 1, 2006
  7. Hi Tammy - I used to drink the green drinks everyday, but stopped shortly after being diagnosed because of the presence of wheat/barley grass. Because of leaky gut syndrome so common with celiac disease, I don't think it's a good idea to expose myself to such a wide scope of foods each day. For eg. I'm now showing a sensitivity to parsley and pumpkin seeds...
  8. Hi there - I've read a post from someone else warning against citric acid, but it's safe according to the Celiac.com safe and forbidden food list. I usually confirm everything I eat is gluten-free with the manufacturer before I eat it though. Care ______________________ Diagnosed: December 30, 2005 Gluten-Free: February 1, 2006
  9. Hi Monica Have you tried probiotics? They really help me with C. I think the flaxseed is a good idea - flaxseed oil would help even more with C. Good luck to you. Care
  10. Good one Nini - and so true. As we speak my hubby (gluten glutton) is eating my Panda Puffs! Care ___________________________ Diagnosed: December 30, 2005 Gluten-Free: February 1, 2006
  11. Hi again - yes the sunflower/sesame/safflower oils are good sources of omega 6 apparently. I take lecithin as well, but usually for animal-based fat. Wow - that's surprising that Nutritional Healing doesn't cover Celiac anymore. Regards, C
  12. Hi there - I know what you mean about Natural Healing - I use it as a general guide only. I've heard that it's good to balance flax with sunflower, sesame or safflower oil to balance the EFA's. So, about buying the flax seed in bulk - I've heard bulk shopping is risky because of cross contamination (the scoops can be used for flour etc.), but I gather...
  13. ______________ Yes, I bought some Bob's Red Mill Raw Whole Flaxseed awhile back, got really excited - until I took a spoon full and realized it still has the husk on it. So the grinding is definitely something I'm going to try for this stuff. So does the Prizzey's brand that you buy still have the husk on it? thanks, C _____...
  14. Hi Yvonne: Have you ever tried a yeast cleansing program? Bloating, leaky gut and sugar cravings are classic symptoms of yeast overgrowth. I've done it a number of times with some success - kind of a drag though because it calls for temporary elmination of fruit and anything sweet. Good luck to you. Care
  15. Thanks for the tip - I'll try that. C
